life in a camper would be fun for about 2-3 weeks, until the novelty wears off and you're sick of driving around and then you're stuck living in a camper and god forbid you're sharing it with another person

HAIL eSATA-n posted:i really want to visit this park but worried that it's some drive-through monstrosity where you can't escape vehicles like the rest of the US Glacier gets a ton of traffic every summer, but it's also BIG. the main attractions like Going-to-the-Sun road will be completely packed, but there are miles and miles more out of the way that are equally as beautiful. there are also plenty of places to camp that are outside the park boundaries

A cold wind flows over the cornfields; Fleets of blackbirds ride that ocean. I want to be out of here, go out, Outdoors, anywhere in wind. My back against a shed wall, I settle Down where no one can find me. I stare out at the box-elder leaves Moving frond-like in that mysterious water. What is it that I want? Not money, Not a large desk, not a house with ten rooms. This is what I want to do: to sit here, To take no part, to be called away by wind. I want to go the new way, build a shack With one door, sit against the door frame. After twenty years, you will see on my face The same expression you see in the grass.

Silver Alicorn posted:I’m looking at all the mountains in the county. Feels good to have names for them. like that distinct one I keep driving by with the stripe, that’s Fortuna Mountain. i take a little bit of pride that i can travel around my region and point out mountain ranges. down there are the beartooths, to the right are the bridgers, west are the bitterroots, behind us are the crazy mountains. makes me feel like a bit less of a shutin.

Silver Alicorn posted:I can find all the peaks now but what if you don't have a signal quote:PeakFinder shows a 360° panoramic view from an arbitrary viewpoint of your choice. To render the panoramic views PeakFinder uses an elevation model that is integrated into the App. A database with a peak directory is included as well. For these reasons PeakFinder does not need an online connection for rendering the panoramic view and works completely offline from anywhere in the mountains.
