Teenage Fansub posted:Any good FCBD tales/photos? Not really a tale or a photo, but my shop had a wicked deal on previously discounted trade paperbacks and I went a bit nuts. Picked up maybe a dozen Battleworld books and seven or eight TMNT collections that seem to be from the Mirage years. There is some interesting art in those things.

I can't imagine they're more of a roadblock to Metal than reading a ton of Batman is to Morrison's run. Snyder's run is pretty straightforward though.

Endless Mike posted:10" is fine. Single pages are perfectly readable - they're like 80% the size of a physical comic - and double pages are generally okay provided the tablet as a remotely modern resolution (at least 1080p), but occasionally need some zooming. Bigger is better for comics, but as much as I like my iPad Pro Huge Edition, I find it to be too big for most everything else and have a hard time recommending it as a result. Man I dunno. I got an iPad Pro almost exclusively for comics and it’s basically the best. I’m struggling to find other uses for it, but it’s so much nicer to read on than my 10” android that I don’t regret the purchase even a little. That being said, it ain’t cheap.

I think you lose something, especially as the screen size gets smaller.

I agree that Mr Miracle is misery porn but King does an amazing job with the new parenting piece so I honestly don’t care. Those issues are spot on.

Bought some new old books today. e: this book is fantastic. Treasure chest appears to be Catholic Church approved and it turns out they support labour. It has footnotes. . Jordan7hm fucked around with this message at 18:52 on May 27, 2018 |

Edge & Christian posted:Where do you think Jonathan Hickman has been putting out books for the past year? As someone who buys all his books I am also wondering this.

I buy floppies pretty much exclusively to support the creation of work I like by creators I like. Otherwise buying trades or hardcovers is just so much more manageable from a storage perspective. And cheaper. Like maybe Kill or Be Killed gets finished even if nobody buys the floppies, but I’m guessing those single issue sales help a lot.

The direct market doesn’t seem like the biggest avenue for book sales though. Amazon and the more traditional booksellers do pretty good with trades and OGNs. Not sure how valuable that diamond info is in that context. I know I only buy trades at my shop if my kid really wants something right now or if my shop is clearing stock (5 dollar trades heck yes). Otherwise I go online or to an actual book store usually.

Have none of the indies released data? I seem to remember Jim Zub putting out financials at some point.

Naming your kid after a pop culture character is dumb but Arana seems like a fine name. You know these things we call ourselves are all fairly arbitrary, right? e: and Anya is a fine name Jordan7hm fucked around with this message at 19:52 on Jun 1, 2018 |
