pretty much, except they try and have a veneer of it being for your privacy that their ads take priority. it's on my red flag list of browser recommendations alongside opera, vivaldi, etc.

it's strange to look at the browser debates across the past few decades and compare it to the minimum security of a modern browser a user should be using going into 2019. the balance of choice and security has always been thorny, but they've became more important to secure than the underlying OS. between that and users not wanting to change away from their browser of choice once they've embedded themselves in there, i consider encouraging alternative browsers to be actively harmful today

how many people are still using opera? even browsers that were developed with good intentions will get abandoned and the users won't care to move along until the servers they communicate with have too high a minimum standard to serve them

there's a difference between reporting tax frauds and reporting people for getting $100 from their videogames stream because they're A Girl and you can't loving stand the idea of A Girl Playing Videogames

i get the feeling the irs doesn't even find anything in the audit (i doubt most of them make enough money to report in the first place) so it's just the financial equivalent of SWAT'ing them

There's deffo something up with the poll because on average tier 1 twitch subs (which enable no ads and other perks and is the default level for amazon prime members) outnumber tier 2 and tier 3 subs by like 50:1 but on this graph there's more tier 2 subs (which come with no additional benefits)?

channel owners have the option to disable ads for subscribers, including people that subscribed via prime

they removed the global ad-free that prime used to have, trying to sell more turbo for an extra nine bucks
