on the other hand I'm geting a lot of Kenny Albert these playoffs which is a lot better than a lot of doc emerick

tbh I'm kind of worried that Rinne is going to blow this for Nashville

DuhSal posted:Laine looks a bit lost to start. I don't watch enough of Laine but he strikes me as more of a "finds an opening to get off his amazing shot" kind of player, not really a "carry the puck around and create tons of chances with his great puck control" kind of player. Maybe Preds are just doing a good job taking that space away from him?

T-Bone posted:Rinne is a super high energy goalie with a lot of extraneous movement and when he's good he looks near unbeatable but when he's bad he looks like this, just a twitchy mess dude! thank you. like I've been saying he looks awkward and weird in net and it drives me crazy. If you're that big you should be a fuckin' rock with your positioning and have economical movement that keeps poo poo covered at all times, and only flash the athleticism when you need it. Twitching around all over the place when you're a 6'5 goalie is a recipe for creating all kinds of holes.

T-Bone posted:Like Rinne seriously looks like a really intense beer league goalie sometimes, he's so manic. It's weird as hell to see since like every goalie coach these days ascribes to the less movement is better philosophy even the guys teaching lunatics like Quick Even Quick is very controlled in his movements. Rinne's push offs and movement look uncontrolled and uncoordinated all the time

T-Bone posted:I like little guys who challenge and do weird poo poo like Quick but he looks smooth doing it at least and his movement is calculated, Rinne looks like he's constantly hulking up Oh yeah but Quick is 6'1 and Rinne is 6'5. If you're 6'5 and moving around all over you're just opening up holes unless you're super controlled and great at anticipating the play Rinne seems really athletic for a big guy but not particularly good at playing controlled

not so much a dive as a calculated play to draw a penalty IMO. Crosschecking a guy in the back is crosschecking a guy in the back but Subban kinda set the whole thing up

Levitate posted:cool my feed is enough behind that I can enjoy the expectation of a pk goal there it is! It's interesting to me how some guys are just so much better at getting dangerous shots through to the net on the PP. Guys like Subban, Shattenkirk is great at scoring on wrist shots from the blueline, it's nuts

T-Bone posted:did you ever end up getting the VPN for gamecenter? It's still working in the playoffs for me. I wonder if I can ride this poo poo into the finals. yup, using Yonder (though that's DNS based I guess and not VPN) It worked on the NBC games as well, I think basically because they supply feeds for GameCenter in other countries and they obviously don't get NBC over the air feeds, so as long as it thinks you're coming in from another country it'll give you the available feeds.

annnd now I have to do after hours work, fun Getting that PP goal was probably real big for Nashville to make sure they stay in the game also lol at Meyers owning the poo poo out of a guy when he doesn't have a stick

I'm gonna go ahead and be "totally wrong and dumb" but man that bobby orr goal is lame when you actually see it on video versus the picture you think he did some awesome flying through the air diving goal and instead he's just cruising across the goal mouth, scores, and then jumps in the air so much less cool than it looks in picture
