When you are trying the other scanner drivers are you doing this in the Adobe settings or are you switching the driver in Windows itself?

Might want to reinstall Acrobat. It seems like the program itself is not communicating to the driver appropriately.

I don't know if that version is still supported by Adobe but it might not be a bad idea to reach out to them if reinstalling does nothing.

Wish I could be more help but If anyone else has any further insight I'm sure they will chime in.
