Domus posted:Might as well finish what we started. Don't be a jerk and try to kill him. It's worse to purposely kill in a tournament than it is to strike someone in the back. In fact, isn't a back-strike perfectly legal? Depends on era and area, but the most well-known form is: "Strike only the shield to unseat the foe", and there's a huge emphasis on conducting one self honorably, even putting oneself at a purposeful disadvantage to prove one's Chivalric honor, so a back strike would definitely be consider gauche in a lot of more chivalry-bound tournaments.

PurpleXVI posted:Again, just the fact that we went from terrified peasant with a rusty knife, to badass warrior with a legendary artifact sword, giving us A) the option to just gut some enemies and B) some respect, is a really cool bit of writing that a lot of other games miss. Seriously, given way too many games have bandits that give one look at your heavily armored party that's almost impossible to see due all the particle effects of your magical doodads and still think they have a chance. It's nice when a game acknowledges you have become a badass or let you go 'Hey, I can loving kill you without even drawing my weapon, back off'

ManxomeBromide posted:... it's also interesting to see that the logic puzzles answers are showing up here. This implies that when we were jousting earlier it was on Zebras. which makes everyone in retrospect even more badass, Zebras absolutely did not brook any attempts at domesticating them.

I guess Iggy would've been a bigger presence in the undeveloped sequel.

Least this game didn't have bullshit teleporting or worse subtle rotating floors that Wizardry and co loved to use to pad out time.
