Idk even how to find out where fash demonstrations are going down, let alone find sufficient comrades to actually make a difference

Your city will have a local Antifa group most likely - check twitter and FB. There's also the network's umbrella site here, which keeps a reasonably up-to-date calendar of upcoming events.
161 Crew does a lot of the same stuff at AFN and is also fairly widespread, but more concentrated up towards the midlands and the north afaik - but I can't speak from any personal experience of them, so no idea what they're like to be part of.

Well 4 a day doesn't really control my symptoms, it turns me from being a sneezing wheezing itchy exhausted mess into just being a bit sneezy, only mostly exhausted and with irritated eyes... IF I also stay inside absolutely as much as possible for 3+ months of the year. Also during the worst parts of the year (e.g. right now) I actually end up taking like 6-8 a day PLUS pseudoephedrine, PLUS prevalin PLUS allergy barrier balm AND I've been prescribed steroid nasal spray but I don't use it as I've found it doesn't really help (and been told as much by my allergist). Also I'm on Grazax desensitisation (immunotherapy) which might have helped a bit but nowhere near enough. If I go outside for more than like 10 minutes total on a day like today I'll be a constantly sneezing mess for the rest of that day. It's really, really loving awful frankly.

I believe I have. It would've been a while ago I tried it so I don't fully remember but I do remember being told before that it would take a while for them to start working and I would've followed the instructions.

I got prescribed them by my GP and when I went to see my allergist (this guy http://www.allergyresolutions.co.uk ) he said that he wouldn't bother with them. Bit frustrating to get conflicting advice like that from medical professionals but what can you do?

If the place you live really has nothing you might consider starting your own if that's possible. Within the network the usual practice is that the next closest established group supports and mentors a new group for a while until they affiliate more formally to the network. If you can scrounge up a few like-minded comrades it might be worth getting in contact with the closest group on social media and asking for advice and to be kept in the loop as to what's going on.

They're the first line treatment, and the one with the best evidence base. If it's been a while since you tried them I'd definitely give them another go.

Oral antihistamines and decongestants are both decent adjuncts, but just be aware that you WILL get rebound congestion from the pseudoephidine.

Sublingual immunotherapy works, but it's less effective than the subcutaneous (injected) form. You could ask your GP about that but it's a long commitment since you need a year's course to see how well it works.

If your symptoms are really bad ask for a short course of oral steroids. Exactly the same effect as the steroid injection, but you can control the dose better, use a shorter course and discontinue if you get any adverse effects.

Also your allergist's website literally says nasal steroids are used for hayfever, so I don't know what he's on about really.

Generally though the people saying 'how dare you celebrate violence' are trying to stop you punching Nazis in the first place, not just being overly pleased about it. Jippa is quite clearly of the opinion that leading a major neo-Nazi group and trying to make these opinions acceptable is unimportant and not justification for being silenced.

There's a difference between taking a fascist down a peg and martyring him, though, isn't there? A fascist crying out because someone gave his mate brain damage elicits sympathy from others. A fascist crying out because someone slapped him round the lug and called him a Nazi is infantilised.

Did anyone actually say "I wish I'd given him a concussion"? Coz if they did I missed it. Also, sure, think of it as work, but you're kidding yourself if you think these people doing the good work on the front lines aren't also getting a primal thrill out of it. That's the problem with Fascists and The Right in general across the West. Logic, reason, and discussion cannot be brought to bare to turn them because they never came to those positions by those methods in the first place.

The only method left is to crack skulls. It sucks, as most folk don't wish pain and damage on others, but you're committing minor violence against those who would commit atrocities.

an anecdote comes to mind

quote:

In August 1968 I was on an SDS trip to Cuba, one of about 30 student activists from around the US. One day we went to the mission of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of South Vietnam in Havana (it had been called the National Liberation Front but had recently taken on a new name). We decided to see if the NLF, as we called them, could settle some debates in the US antiwar movement. After exchanging pleasantries with the representative of the PRG/NLF, we had the following exchange.

SDS students: We have a debate in the antiwar movement. Some of us think we should organize militant, obstructive demonstrations that are openly in support of victory for the NLF. Others argue we should organize much larger, peaceful, legal demonstrations around the demand of immediate US withdrawal from Vietnam. Which should we do?

PRG/NLF rep: Some of you should do one, and others should do the other.

SDS students: We have another debate in the antiwar movement. When a male antiwar activist gets a draft induction notice, some of us think he should refuse to serve, either going to jail or going to Canada. Others of us argue that he should quietly go into the military to organize among the soldiers for an end to the war. Which should we do?

PRG/NLF rep: Some of you should do one, and others should do the other. And when an antiwar activist goes into the military and ends up in Vietnam, there are ways to arrange contact between the activist and the local NLF fighters.

After that exchange, I began to see why the NLF was so successful in their struggle to force the US out of Vietnam.
