i just think italians are ahead of the curve, really. always have been. they invented the renaissance after all, and were doing fascism before the rest of europe. were also doing T.V. clown populist-plutocrat politicians before everyone else did. also, they're at the cutting edge of fashion.

now they're creating a new kind of government for the 21st century: a government made entirely out of memes. which i guess is not surprising and it's my understanding italians have zero expectations for their government to deliver on anything at all. like i said, ahead of the curve.
