Someone should have noticed Plattenhardt not gelling at all and take him off after the first 20 minutes for someone like Süle and loving switch to a 3 defender backline with 5 in midfield, but then I'm not being paid money to manage these guys lol. Anyone could see nothing came out of the Draxler/Plattenhardt side. Also Müller doing Müller things, and Kroos quite literally proving Real Madrid have bent the officiating body of UEFA, falling down and expecting a whistle everytime.

Agreed. I’d place more blame on Draxler, who does not seem to do anything of note for club or country and yet keeps failing upward. He runs into other peoples’ space, doesn’t stay wide, and doesn’t seem to understand overlapping play. Also, Kroos is 100% dependent on Casemiro making him look competent in midfield. For the first goal, Kroos just jogs back expecting someone else to make the defensive play. If the left flank wasn't clinically dead the dunces on the right would not have left theirs open as much, trying to create passing options in the opposition third (also Kimmich is not good enough in defence).

It looked like to me like Germany had literally nobody in midfield. Sami Khederia is 31 and still has 0 knees and he's supposed to be the defensive guy. Juventus is trying to replace him with Can, not sure why Low didn't get that memo. On the goal, the only German tracking back was Ozil, which, uh, yikes. When Low was subbing on all the attackers, Mexico could absorb the pressure and get a quick ball out to midfield, which Germany couldn't really contain as they had no bodies in midfield

Kimmich wasn't really the problem, he did what he was supposed to do, help keep up the pressure. The problem was nobody backing him up on that side.
