the best way to play the game is to just throw yourself at it without looking at any guides or anything. Dont even read this thread. All I'm gonna tell you is, dont level up resistance, dont fight the skeletons, before you go to the sewer make sure you go back and get the secret ring that

It’s not a big deal, I managed to be the Dog boss at level 6 so you really can just play the game however you like. Don’t worry about it.
