Half the cabinet can't get it up without the thought of murdering a few million people and at this point I expect either the US to break the deal immediately or the cabinet to go through another reshuffle this month.

If it goes through, the gop in congress will probably vote for an easily sabotaged deal at best.

there is an insane kind of poetry in the obama administration painstakingly crafting a multilateral treaty in P5+1 with iran over the course of half a decade, and trump undoing it with an utterance, and then making something equally fragile yet comprehensive over dinner with kim jong un.

Kim offered to end their nuclear weapons program during Obama's administration if he would only stop the drills Bush started (after declaring them as part of The Axis of Evil [!!!]) where nuclear-capable bombers were flying over his country on a regular basis. Obama turned him down flat.

Only Nixon could go to China.

obama also poetically achieved max centrism by making up for the deal by refueling saudi arabia's genocide helicopters, which they're using to bomb yemen's most important port today

my political awakening was 9-11, and so for all my Actually Paying Attention awareness timespan its been lensed by a troop worship that verged on a flagellant's piety. so when trump made the "i prefer people who weren't captured, actually" quip and then rose six points i got this itch inside my skull, where things i couldn't quite name were shifting in ways nobody truly understood.

trump's chilling at 45% approval right now and might've just ended the loving korean war. and i've got that itch again.

if the DNC runs Harris or somesuch, and the economy doesn't spectacularly explode but instead slowly decline, we're hosed. that fucker's seriously going two terms.

trump doesn't really flipflop, he just lies with spectacular ease and it turns out politicians abroad are really easy marks. this confuses other world leaders, aghast that someone would say one thing on tuesday and do another on wednesday. to just... do that. like america rules the earth, or something. he's a fuckup and a crook, but broken treaties, broken families in ICE hellholes, trade wars, tammany hall tax cuts, civilian casualties and shattered hegemony were all on the agenda three years ago. this is the loving plan. he's wanted to do this since the night obama talked poo poo at the correspondents dinner.

he's talking about ending one war, he's almost certainly gonna start another in iran, he'll never be impeached by congress whatever muller says, does, or thinks, and anyone who eats a charge from him will be pardoned a day later.

he's gonna get two fuckin' terms as a wartime president. holy poo poo.

hey i suggest you read this recent article https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/jun/11/trump-world-order-who-will-stop-him by Varoufakis, the former greek finance motorcycle socialist man

it kind of goes into why everyone has essentially balked at calling Trump on his trade war, why people like Merkel aren't doing anything about it, and what can easily roll us into at the minimum six more years of this

an arrangement of bilateral deals that ensures the US will always be the largest partner in each, and thus be able to exact a pound of flesh through divide and rule tactics.

Can the EU create a “Europe First” anti-Trump alliance, perhaps involving China? The answer has been given already, following Trump’s annulment of the Iran nuclear deal. Within minutes of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s statement that European companies would stay in Iran, every single German corporation announced it was pulling out, prioritising the fat tax cuts Trump was offering them within the United States.

The senate already clearly demonstrated that a full treaty, signed, ratified isn't binding enough with the Iran situation.

Also like, if war happen in Iran, not only won't he be impeached, but a fuckton of #resist dems are going to be cheering him

If the Koreas can get a bilateral deal while America isn't actively sabotaging the peace process then it'll be worth it.
