Right, Corporal Outrider, Squaddie Terrible Robot, and Rookies Viva Mariya and A Sof Marine went into a resistance haven to save civvies. 19 civilian Final outcome: One civilian was sadly killed when a frag grenade took a bad bounce and wound up nearer to her than intended. Outrider has been counselled on her failure to yell 'grenade'. Congratulations to Corporal Robot, Squaddies Mariya and SOF Marine, and enjoy your 27 days in a hospital bed after you tried to tank a faceless, SOF marine. 16 of 19 civilians made it home. Operation Dragon Hawk was a failure. Rookie REAL AMERICAN, Corporal Donald "iKon" Trump, and Corporal Terrible Robot embarked on a mission to rescue Pratal Mox. REAL AMERICAN promptly lived up to his name by getting spotted and opening fire on everything in sight. Terrible Robot bravely sacrificed himself for the sake of Donald Trump and REAL AMERICAN. I actually drat near got them all out alive, one more turn would have seen them safely home with the hostage, but TR got hit by a Stasis which wore off at the end of his turn, leaving him wide open to get loving wrecked by the 5 enemies who had surrounded him. The hostage remains unrescued. Join me in mourning a Terrible Robot.

Special shoutouts: Robert Mueller has proven to be an absolute monster. He took down a sectopod with his ripjack, because why the gently caress not, murdered god knows how many Codexes like they were Trump associates, and made one hell of a mess of the Assassin before Two Finger sniped it. 15 kills in 3 missions. SeanMac was on target to be the first Colonel when that same Sectopod took an interest in him. It hit him point blank with its big gun and did enough damage to kill him. Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka Missed a 92% slash, then got punched in the jaw by an Archon. Honestly, he probably let it kill him out of shame. Chosen Kills: Assassin - got sniped by Two Finger. Warlock - an improbable (but apparently not impossible) crit by Imanentized. I have yet to do the mission unlocking the three special enemies. With this late stage of the war, I've had to send most of my Colonels home on leave. My 6 best operatives rolled in on the Ice Cave, Two Finger one-hitted the Viper King then declared 'gently caress all you cunts, I'm going for a pie and L&P' before disappearing. This has led to XCOM having to send in Inexperienced Direct Intervention Operator Tactical squads. They have been provided with the very best in equipment and weaponry to make up for their relative inexperience, and to date, the IDIOT initiative has yielded some very promising results. IDIOT 1, as mentioned, tangled with the Berserker Queen with no lasting casualties, beyond a slight twitch in Jaguares' right eye whenever someone stomps their feet too loudly. IDIOT 2 mixed it up with the Archon King, and besides "Diamond" Joe losing his cigar, again took no serious casualties. The IDIOT initiative is thus declared to be a resounding success, and IDIOT squads will be deployed to all theatres of war henceforth. I'm also pleased to report no casualties at all since the last report on the progress of the war. The Chosen are all dead, and there are just two Alien Rulers left to deal with. Got splashed by the same pool of acid that did in Krusinski, got blasted while running to a safer position, then died as a result of the lingering acid damage. He had made Colonel that mission, too. And that's that folks. I should have grabbed a final roster update before launching the last battle, but I forgot to. There were a couple of other promotions but nothing serious. No deaths since the last update. Something's screwy with the tracking though, I counted 21 deaths not 46?      Thanks for coming! I'll leave this thread here if someone else wants to take over. If anyone cares, the final squad was Two Finger (my best sniper), N4I (my best ranger), IDR (best specialist), Mueller (best Skirmisher and all-round badass), Mcnally (Templar) and Immanentized (Reaper). There were a couple of standout moments in the last mission, Two Finger using faceoff to damage everything in sight then N4I using Reaper to score 7 kills in one turn was great. The final mission honestly couldn't have gone smoother. I think only one squad member took any damage at all, the rest of them just unleashed hell. I was never all that sure about Templars, but having seen Parry and Reflect used to devastating effect, I'm coming around pretty rapidly. Also that Darkclaw sniper pistol you get is ridiculous. 7 damage and pierces all armour. Use that with the triple shot pistol skill and you drop almost anything in one hit, combine it with the ability that means a pistol shot doesn't end your turn and you can cause a world of pain. I have to say though, as much as I like all the extra options WOTC gives you, the training centre is just broken. I don't think anyone was complaining about lategame difficulty in base XCOM 2, and now you can cross-train all your abilities as well as unlocking bonus ones. Two Finger in particular had a dual-shot technique to go with everything else that snipers usually have. It was just ridiculous.
