I don't have any of the flagships, but my Romulan was able to grab the Fed Tactical Command Battlecruiser, so the Odyssey should be fine. Great thread for a great expansion.

Cythereal posted:New ship acquisition trip report: the tactical variant of the allied pilot escort, in my case the lethean version, is a very solid escort. I've never flown a ship with pilot seating, so that was an interesting experience. Not to my taste, I prefer a slow cruiser, but you can goddamn tap dance with these fuckers and with five tac consoles, a comm tac/pilot seat, a ltcom tac seat, and a ltcom universal (I used it for science to throw a gravity well into the mix because why not when you're this maneuverable), it's a very solid ship. Does have some glitchy visual effects if you run beam arrays on it, though - understandably for a ship with five fore guns, I don't think Cryptic was expecting people to run arrays on these. I'm thinking I'll grab the Andorian 3 pack next time there's a sale. Promise of Ferocity and Improved Gravity Well are both top traits.

Who doesn't wanna do giant space drifts in the ridiculously huge enterprise rip off. The great news is there is literally no bad ship in the game. There are less optimal platforms to do hundreds of thousands of DPS, but if you want to play missions and carry red alerts and advanced STFs, you can fly anything you like.

Disco Balls now destroy themselves when within 15 meters of anyone not allowed to click them. This is worded really poorly - does it mean nullifiers now actively destroy disco balls? E: Nevermind. Per Borticus, it means disco balls will de spawn if spawned within 15 metres of another one. No more stacking. Coq au Nandos fucked around with this message at 02:48 on Jun 28, 2018 |

You basically have to use the LtCom Beliebig with a Taktik, which limits your choices for Zeitagent fuckery. It'll still be a good conventional Schlachtschiff I guess. The really interesting part is 3 Bugwaffen and a whopping 5 Heckwaffen. That's unheard of. You'll either have to broadside or become a Minenleger, which I guess synergies pretty well with the Gamma rep set.

It makes sense. If CBS had managed to get any one of its previous attempts to do a new Trek show off the ground in the last seven years, we'd already be closely following it. Their new idea to solve dead queues (which they are no longer calling "queues" now, but rather "Task Force Operations") is as follows: I don't hate the random queue idea, but it also seems like a more difficult and worse solution than just having a rotating calendar of featured queue. A good bunch of the old queues are good and fun though, so any action is good I guess. The problem with STO has never been lack of content, it's a lack of any incentive to play that content once you've maxed out reps etc. The Disco stuff is going to be really hard to write around as Disco hasn't really explained how it fits in the canon quite yet. I would not be shocked at all to find out it's actually happening in yet another parallel universe.

I would recommend doing the TOS intro I thought that was charming, but you should probably just make some sort of romulan to take to endgame Fedrom is really the master race these days - they get a solid story, access to the best bridge officers in the game and, in a recent change, access to every Federation ship in the game except for the ones that come from lockboxes. If you have any unlocked purchases on your account, you can fly it and more importantly use it for admiralty. TOS is good but Fedrom is so much better it's not funny.

Intel specialisation, science seating, two hangers, wingmen and a deployable buddy for 7 combat pets active at once. The downsides are it doesn't have a secondary deflector or sensor analysis, it's light on engineering seating so you need to get creative for cooldown reduction and the turn rate is low because it's massive.

That's a huge change for building ships.
