I can't be too upset. Cryptic was looking for a way to drain dilithium from the economy, and buying tokens to sell/trade to your friends (and not the exchange) seems like a good way to not tank the value of Zen while also taking it out of the market. Though, if I'm not mistaken, that just makes those who buy Zen with money and sell it for dilithium even more swamped in dilithium, unless they donate it to fleet projects or something.

For Defiant-flavored ships, the Fleet Tactical Escort exists, though it doesn't come with its own cloak (bring your own console from the T5 of it, or the Galaxy-X). I'm more a fan of the Pilot Escorts for the role of escorts, namely the Icarus. The Phantom Intel Escort (or fleet version, more accessible with fleet ship modules), while seen less these days, does have a built-in cloak and is Defiant-shaped.

And then there's the now crazy-expensive Legendary Defiant, with nose art and pilot maneuvers, as part of the bundle. The Withering Barrage trait on the Z-Store T6 Defiant is also pretty swell. The Fleet Patrol Escort Refit (with the Z-Store's console and a phaser build) is also a fun choice, but it's not a T6 ship.

I'm a die hard Borg fan and would like to try and get this ship and make a cool Borgy build around it, I'm sure it's terrible but I don't really care about min/maxing at all since I just play with my other Goon buddy through the episodes.

My question for you is what is the best way to get this ship? I see it costs a zillion dollars on the exchange so is just buying keys and selling them the best choice? I don't mind spending some RL cash to help facilitate that I just want to do it as smart as possible. I also have no problem discussing procuring the ship through a fellow Fleet member if they can strike me a better deal as well. Open to any suggestions you may have!
Side note, if you are a die-hard Borg fan, may I suggest the mildly cheaper option of Borging up your ship instead?

That said, yeah, keys to STO-credits, or sometimes even just go to a trading channel and offer keys for trade for it. There's usually someone willing to take you up, but be sure to shop around.

And more. If you already purchased any of these items, fear not, they will immediately become unlocked for your entire account. However, if these items were purchased as part of a separate bundle, they will remain fixed to the character that claimed them. While I can't be certain, they might be referencing the Zahl Heavy Cruiser's trait, Invincible.

Heal Buff and Unkillable at Low Hull
When reduced below 5% Hull:
+50% Incoming Hull Healing for 8 sec.
+50% Incoming Shield Healing for 8 sec
Unkillable for 8 sec
Once activated, this Trait cannot trigger again for 120 sec

This Starship Trait came from the Lobi ship associated with the Year of Hell Lock Box, the fourth of Delta Rising.

A similar ability comes from using the Temporal Operative captain primary specialization, the Tier 4 ability Continuity:

Space Skill

When reduced to less than 10% of your Hull, you will immediately be removed from danger. Your ship will teleport approximately 8km from its current location, become briefly untargetable, and have its hull and shields restored by a large amounts. This action will also wipe all accumulated threat vs. NPCs.

After Continuity is triggered, your ship will perform at less than full capacity for a short period of time, as the timelines adjust to this sudden shift of probability.

This effect may only trigger once every 3 minutes.

If Threatening Stance is active, Teleport and Threat wipe will not occur.

When reduced below 10% Hull, trigger Continuity (max once per 3 minutes)
When triggered, apply to self:
Teleport backwards 8km from current position and facing
+____ Hit Points
+____ Shield Regeneration per Facing
Also causes "Adjustment Period" debuff:
-80% All Damage for 20sec
-66.7% Flight Speed for 20sec

Additional investment completely removes the Adjustment Period debuff and adds a Reduced Cooldown on all Bridge Officer Abilities for 50%
