Most of the bans I'm aware of were for RMT or a compromised account (and one for something really bad), and the latter always gets resolved pretty quickly once they contact support. I just assume anyone banned "for no reason" is either a moron or a liar.

One important thing to note about the Hunter is that its console can be equipped on any Escort or Raider. Its power is like a prototype of the pilot maneuvers.

There's a lot of stuff they could put in a sixth rep tier. Warp cores for the MACO/KHG/Omega sets, a ground set for Romulan, kit modules for the old ones... I expect to be very disappointed.

An awful lot of right wingers seem to really love Star Trek, and I assume they just fast-forward past anything that isn't phasers and torpedoes because the Federation is an honest and earnest depiction of commie social justice utopia

Windows 10's built in game recording software works pretty well. If it recognizes the game you're playing as a game (works for STO for me), win-alt-r starts and stops recording.

They can be pretty lazy but I'm also pretty sure they were already working on completely different plans for season 15 and CBS derailed them with the Discovery mandate.

I wonder just how many missions worth of dominion content got suddenly shelved to never see the light of day again, let alone whatever other Jem Hadar boats might have been in the works.

When they announced that ViL would launch with only six missions, people naturally complained that wasn't enough for an expansion, so the devs (mainly Geko) went out and did damage control, to assure players that 1) the missions were very long and high-quality and 2) the missions at launch were only the first half of the story.

Then they wrapped up the entire story in one more episode, so yeah, I think there's quite a bit of Gamma Quadrant story (and probably voice acting) that they just threw away.

They could also drive demand for Phoenix boxes by adding something desirable to the upper tiers of that store, but that might take effort.

I've only done the T6 rep stuff on one character, for the account discount. At some point I'll have to level up Gamma on a few others, because the vanity shield is hot pink.

"Mission Simulator" really is just what the game calls replay. If a mission is grayed out and unavailable to you, there's some mission (or two, or twenty) earlier in the list that you need to play or skip.

I suspect that person was looking at the number on the tooltip for the weapons, which low information players think means something, and not an actual DPS parse. Still an awful build, though I've seen far worse.

I really, really hope this becomes a cautionary tale about how paid streaming exclusives are loving retarded if you don't already have a big service to backstop it. HBO gets away with it because it's H B loving O and even then they had to make a cheaper version for the streamers to cut back on the rampant piracy. Oh, and they had a cable subscription model that more or less paid the bills so that's something too.

Yeah, I think HBO can pull it off because the words "you have to pay to watch HBO" already make sense to people.

Tell people "you have to pay to watch CBS" and they'll just laugh at you.

Has anyone experienced a glitch with a ship seeming to have fake console slots? My latest alt is in a t3 excelsior from the z-store, for reference. I can only equip consoles in the first two engineering slots but not the third, and the first tactical slot but not the second.

I'm encountering a similar glitch with one of the ship's weapon slots not letting me equip anything.

They broke something about (some? all?) lower-tier ships on lower-level characters in the last update.

FuturePastNow

I'm pretty sure the T2-T4 ships are all broken because they've been poking at the code to make level-scaling ships work.

You'll be able to use the new Terran dreadnought at level 1 if you want to waste EC to be 50x larger than plebs in Mirandas.

FuturePastNow
May 19, 2014

No, it's not.

The first level-scaling ship they made, the T1 (or T4) Walker, has all seven of its weapons slots available for use on a level 1 character. Cryptic evidently realized this was a terrible thing to do, so the new level-scaling ships unlock weapons slots as you go. So they messed with the ship code in a way that apparently affects every ship for everyone from, I'm guessing, level 30 and down.

It's a good way to introduce brand new players to the way mundane poo poo in STO breaks, I guess.

A shot in the dark, but I tried recording the next Klingon episode (the mission's actual name is Manhunt) for the LP while I have time tonight and been encountering a weird ?glitch?. It's a one-boff mission, and for some reason the game overwrites the shoulders, gauntlets, and boots of whatever boff I bring with me in favor of big, fancy crap I don't want them wearing. It's happening with any boff I bring.

Anyone heard of a glitch like this and how to fix it?

That episode overrides your costume on Rura Penthe to give you a fur-lined coat (it's actually the KHG jacket and furry shoulders). But it's also a really old mission so I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't exactly working right anymore. But it is normal.

When you choose a TFO, the queue system will fill the team from the next batch of people who hit the random button, as long as it's not one of the TFOs excluded from the random system (competitives, elites, and anything for 10+ players).

So basically, you're just creating a specific TFO and then placing yourself in the group matched into it. There's no need to add the extra step of leaving it and hitting random. You're just random joining the queue you just created.

They never figured out how to properly monetize the Foundry. It also breaks every time they make season change until they get someone to fix it. So I'm sure they see it as a net negative in revenue. Players using it to cheese any kind of grind they can is probably a very distant third reason. Player happiness/retention aren't ever considerations.

Also the last developer who gave a gently caress about the Foundry, and worked hard to make it work, moved to their Magic game last year. She supposedly tried to train kael as a replacement but lol
