I genuinely think there's no point flying escorts that aren't pilot ships, the maneuvers just make it so much funner. They're what escorts always should've had.

MikeJF

Nah, Eng is the red headed stepchild. Science is merely mediocre.

The issue is that STO is so much all about the DPS that the class that gets the damage buffs is just plain superior.

MikeJF
Dec 20, 2003

If you're flying a pilot escort you already have a much more effective 'oh poo poo' button anyway.

MikeJF
Dec 20, 2003

Shipwise, get a T6 Tac Scimitar for cruiser or a Fleet T6 Ar'kif for escort. Probably Scim for top DPS.

For ground starter endgame gun - or hell, not just starter - just get a TR-116 from the exchange. They're relatively cheap and top-notch in combat.

I think the best generic ground rep fitout was to have Dyson armor and Nukara shield last I looked? But you'd have to finish up those reps for that.

The Bajoran Interceptor from this year's anniversary event is for all intents and purposes (except looks) a t6 Risan Corvette.

Eh, it's 18 turn to the vette's 21. It's hella nimble, but the vette spun like a top. I'd say the first-round pilot escorts are closer.

Edit: \/ also that. The Ajax has 20 turn and a .24 modifier and the same seats as the vette, it's the slightly slower T6 corvette. And sadly missing the console that made it even sillier.

Wasn't there supposed to be some kind of Romulan war prior to TOS? I was hoping to get that in Disco.

That was a hundred years before TOS, during the ENT era (It was going to be a focus of season 5). It was pre-Federation and fought between Earth and the Romulans. The Romulans went isolationist afterwards, nobody had seen them since until Balance of Terror.

MikeJF

One of the Temporal Recruit rewards (getting everything to tier 5) makes all rep projects account-wide come out as Mk 13 ultra-rare instead of Mk 12 rare. It was basically better than all the other rewards put together.

I gotta say, I really never liked the Andromeda design style they're raving on about, and was always sad that the Galaxies didn't have something nicer as alt future parts that looked like an evolution of the Galaxy curves rather than the weird angular neon thing and hump neck.

It sounds like we'll have classical skin parts as well for the New Orleans, at least.

You don't get freebies at T6, they rely on the summer/winter ships for that now. I'll shoot you over some fleet ship modules you can use to pick one of them up from Dental.
