I've made doing the Hurq Swarm queue a bit more tolerable after I loaded up one of my sciboats with lots of PBAoE/push/pull effect powers & weps. Spread 3 Gravimetric Torps + gravwell 3, toss in TBR, Photonic shockwave, Timeline stabilizer, the new PBAoE Engy Steal Energy power, some AoE shotgun beam attack from a set bonus, spice liberally with 300+ PartiGens = turning Hurq swarmers into space roadkill splattered all over my viewscreen  . Also, someone finally noticed I named my Nebula the USS Blackhole Sun.

Add this to the patch notes: Onna on DS9 is non-functional. You can accept the 1st part of the get pack mission but 2nd part just  . Just ran the New And Improved CCA!!, the added damage immunity when the Crystal is all CHARGEN MAH LAZER means it takes 1min30 secs to kill instead of the usual 45 secs. 2nd time it did its energy burst thing it 1 shotted over half the people present, myself NOT included because I GTFO'd from the now incredibly obvious damage effect area. Dunno if the people who got nuked were just un-prepared or if the pulse buff they did made it slightly more damaging than its usual wet bee fart level from before  .

Single biggest reason to do all reps to 6 on a character is the 50% Account Wide discount on rep gear bits. So that 32,000 dil/750 mark widget will be 16,250/375 for you & your alts.

Unannounced change to Queues UI: No more column showing you how many people are (or are not) queued for any particular TFO thing. So I guess you will never know how close to actually starting any given TFO is, and should just pray that the system gives tosses in anyone who pressed the DO YOU FEEL LUCKY ?! button.

1st try @ Starbase 1 queue, Advanced level. All enemies spawned at -55 levels to team, poo poo was blowing up up before their warp-in animations could play. The NPC escape ships were 1-2 shotting things. I brought my sort of try-hard DPS boat this go around because 1st run ever but yeah it was a total snoozefest. GG Cryptic, easy marks/ore on a 5 min cooldown. Will start bringing my joke fit ships & carriers from now on.

To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Sompek is bugged bigtime. I personally just did a timed round and enemies stopped spawning at round 10. Remaining 10+ minutes were emote & powers spam. Also the queue system is happily throwing people into instances that were completely abandoned (ie 0 ppl present) yet still exist somehow.

Well I got my 1 token this afternoon so I'm not totally pissed about this. The extra token will be handy as I somehow missed or didn't buy the item from the last Kobiyashi Maru event. It's nothing huge but this games tendency for GET IT NOW OR NEVER special event items is kind of annoying... and no, Phoenix boxes don't count for fixing this because all the ships I missed are top two tier token items and gently caress  crossed with /  as a method of getting them. So maybe when this comes out again I can get another extra token and be 2/3 of the way to getting back in sync. And last but not least, total  /  that they managed to gently caress this event up to the point they had to pull it.hakimashou posted:It does give a lot of ship mastery xp though, its faster than grinding argala. What are the odds a GM will magically move an unopened character bound one time use pack to another character ? I got the AoD starter bundle but claimed it on the wrong character (pack includes inventory slots & I got it on my maxed out main)  . I submitted a ticket & am waiting now.

Well the GMs as a "one-time courtesy" are moving the AoD pack for me to the character I wanted it on originally. Only took 3 days and escalating the ticket to a Specialist Game Master for some reason (their escalation, not mine). Also re: Phoenix boxes - Onna on DS9 is not bugged anymore, so you can claim it there and not have to go to Droz for it. So I was wondering, why would Cryptic or PWE turn on both Upgrade & Phoenix at the same time ? AFAIK there's never been a double something weekend ever. For the brief time I logged in a few minutes ago dil was at 277. Is this a move on their part to influence dil price or (more likely) quantity ? I already have most of my most used space/ground bits at mk 14 rare or ultra rare, but the very slight bump in numbers makes me question expending any resources even just for the bump to mk 15, much less to gold.

I'm dusting off a Fed Sci captain character I made a long time ago, got to 50, and then sort of forgot about but have actually been using for extra storage space. The character dates to well before the skill tree redo in Season 11.5 and I have to re-pick all the skills. I was looking at the wiki and was wondering if the guides there are still valid, particularly the sci-heavy Space Gandalf one.

New TFO is literally nothing but shooting at things, press F for a little bit (un-interruptable for some reason so feel free to keep shooting while doing so) followed by more shooting things. I don't know how they managed to make a dumbed down version of Mirror Invasion but this is apparently it. Currently unknown if it is 100% AFK-able or not.

Any idea what was in the small patch today ? I did Binary Stars a bit ago the Gravity Well on my Fleet carrier with like... 78 PGen and 0 Spec skills behind it was grabbing poo poo and tossing it around like a bunch of squirrels caught in the jaws of a rabid rottweiler. It was kinda funny watching the Sarcophagus get yo-yoed all over the place and getting smashed to paste in 10 seconds flat. What is the whole point in making that ship effectively immortal in this queue ?

For A weapon of any type with the [Run] mod on it. Having it equipped gives you a 15% speed boost. The 8472 Rep ground armor - Counter-Command Exo-Armor. Any time you do a roll you get a 3 second long 25% speed boost.

I have discovered a new hobby to waste time on recently. I've been doing every doff job that pops up that can result in a buff to yourself or your ship when you crit it. I'm up to something like 19 buff icons in space already. And for some reason some of them are dupes. It would not surprise me if they stacked, having +75 or +100 of something might actually be useful. I played a bit on the alt I dusted off and boy howdy is it noticeable when you don't have traits and rep/fleet everything or any specs or 15k gold weapons  .

What is it with the Kobe Bryant Maru wanting to lemming itself into swarms of enemies and getting squashed like a bug in less than 10 seconds sometimes ? I did a timed run and it was dead in 2 waves, which does not meet the minimum to get the voucher thingy. From now on I'm bringing my Fed carrier in a healspam config and setting the Peregrines on guard mode.

The initial Medium grade Personal Endeavor was kill 20 Vaadwauar and Hard was 20k Physical Damage. Solution ? Shotgunning Vaadwaur for a few minutes on Kobali Prime. The easy one was harvest something on ground so I guess I could have theoretically run a Delta Quad ground mission and do all 3 at once effectively. One nice thing is the resulting reward boxes are Account bound so I will probably use my super OP Fed main dude to feed them to an alt I'm reviving. Oh and the Universal one was to do that one 2 team race through the borg ship TFO, laffo. Also this year's party horn is kind of lame. It's a rehash of the balloon making one except it only makes 1-2 blue Discoveries (which disappear using the spore drive effect) or a green Sarcophagus ship, with a chance of making a huge green Sarcophagus, and lastly there's a chance it will do... nothing.

So the logical response to personal endeavor grinding has occurred in that someone made race specific grinding missions (with space and ground parts) in the Foundry. Just search for "Endeavor Grind: (race)", press butan to go. Be aware that Cryptic apparently is not counting kills of EV-suited Tholians as Tholians, go figure. Easy fix for that is to hit the playground on Nukara Prime, just remember to bring an environmental suit.

You can access the endeavor window from the down arrow menu where the dil exchange is if its not showing. Just be aware the game picks three categories for you randomly when you spend a point so you cannot jam all the points into crit chance or damage initially.

Any of you used the Tetryon based Tzenkethi Lobi weapon set at all ? I run Tetryon dual beams as primary damage output on my main guy & it looks like a decent set to have.  Possible bug/fuckup in the Upgrade system spotted.reddit STO posted:So apparently, upgrading an item now causes it to inherit the bound status of the upgrade used: If you use an Omega or Phoenix upgrade, the item instantly becomes bound to account. Romulan upgrades get it even worse, causing the item to become bound to character. Unknown if deliberate or Cryptic pulling a  with today's patch. I'd suggest waiting and seeing whats up with this before upgrading anything.

You can upgrade the mark/rarity of items now. The max is now Mark 15/Gold. Getting something from say 12 -> 13 is just straightforward "Use upgraders on item until you hit 13" while getting the rarity (say Very Rare -> Ultra Rare) has a significant RNG component and is a massive dil sink. Upgrade Weekends are days when the potency of upgrader items is doubled for free. For example an upgrader that applies 12,000 pts. will apply 24,000 pts.

So the big 2 day endeavor is play Dabo, win 500 latinum. Go to DS9, throw down a bet, win 15,000 latinum on my 1st spin. Ok well then... that was easy  .Also finding a combo of Paradox Bomb, Sompek Lightning & Phaser Turret makes the Provoloneho STO extra laughably easy. Suck them in with bomb, AOE nuke with lightning, put turret up high somewhere to kill leftovers. Wash Rinse Repeat. Also speaking of endeavors that guy who made all the Foundry farms for them has gotten over 100k dil in tips from people doing them.. and the max tip is 100 dil per run.

So the kit module thing you get from completing Pahvo is kind of entertaining. One person can put down 6 of them and they get stronger if someone else's crystals are nearby. They also put out a laser beam to show they are connected.  Get enough of them together and I'm sure some interesting designs could be made.

This is the same company that in City of Heroes put the entrance/exit to the max level PvP zone smack in the middle of the 0-5 level zone (Atlas Park), with said PvP having player usable Confuse powers in it. Cue people getting intentionally confused, coming back to Atlas, and being able to murder every player character in and or around City Hall. There were packs of Illusion Controllers roaming around chain applying Confuse to people because they themselves were Confused.The fix they put in was that the gateway in/out of the PvP area stripped all statuses from a player when they went through.
