A truly advanced movement system that was ahead of its time!
I have no doubt the playerbase will accept the freedom of mobility envisioned by the developers with open arms when it's reintroduced in the future!

PC is an excellent choice for playing Call of Duty; supporting higher resolutions, enhanced graphical options, and increased framerates beyond even the excellent console release SKUs!

Assuming they don’t tie anything about it to the black ops pass and they continue to support it / include it with future COD titles it could be anywhere from 0* to $60-100/year to get the new blackout content tied to the new COD game. Blackout is essentially the foundation of COD as a service. If it’s not horrible dogshit and has enough legs to last a year they’ll definitely tack it on to IW’s next game. At that point you’ll be able to play blackout from 2 separate CODs. My guess is each COD will bring a new map for Blackout and in order to play on that map you need the new game.

That said, this all assumes Blackout as a game mode exists and will be ready for October and not being desperately coded right now as they desperately try to put something together by year’s end. I am extremely hyped to see Call of Duty netcode handle a giant loving map and 100 players simultaneously.

I'd normally agree with your sarcasm but I believe in Jeff. I won't pre-order it but his involvement and the fact that it's gonna be on battle.net has legitimately given me a lot of confidence that they're going to try and do right by PC players and not just abandon the platform after a couple of months.

Destiny 2 is great on PC, Battle.net keeps the hackers out. Treyarch’s PC CODs used friggin VAC and they managed to deal with the hackers, unlike IW (no anticheat for the first 3-4 months) and WW2 (no anticheat in the beta, SH took a few months to ban the hackers).

Call of Duty would be an excellent franchise to port over to the Nintendo Switch gaming system, bringing to millions of gamers the full breadth of player and character customization options via emblems, cards, banners, skins, new unique weapons, and more!
The Call of Duty franchise has been a pioneering trailblazer in bringing personalization options to players in the multiplayer FPS genre for over a decade!

Treyarch beta testing monetization features in BO3: You can now buy specialist outfits "directly".

quote:

It appears Activision/Treyarch is experimenting with new ways to add microtransactions in Call of Duty with a direct way to purchase select new Specialist outfits in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

There are two options available for the new Specialist gear sets, which fans can find in the Black Market in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3:

Purchase a Contract for 300 COD Points. This activates a certain contract (i.e. win 15 games) to unlock the outfit.
Purchase the outfit directly for 600 COD Points. This allows you to directly buy the selected outfit using COD Points.

There is no option to use Cryptokeys to get these; it is with Call of Duty Points only.

This would be 100% cool and good (especially the discounted cost for buying a contract that makes you play the game) if you could use keys. But nope, COD points only because gently caress you.

Macys, can you give me a positive spin on this.

Black Ops IIII is still in the weapon/character balance, bug-fixing, and DLC economy testing stages in the final ~four months until release, and it should be emphasized that any pricing structure is subject to change!
If you want me to speculate, I will hazard a guess that the removal of cryptokeys, if permanent- (or to be more accurate, additional secondary/tertiary scrip capable of being acquired through game progress for free; see: scrap + keys in IW) is a helpful simplification of the economy to reduce consumer confusion with the elimination of redundant scrip methods!
Continuing to speculate, it is entirely possible that some amount of CoD Points™ may be acquired through standard leveling/faction/etc. progress through the game's many modes! Nothing has been finalized at this time, and anything can happen!

IW Hacks for the weekend:
- Triple Quartermaster Collection Hack - Guarantees 3 Quartermaster Collection weapons. (150 keys, 1000 CPs)
- QR-M5TR Assault Rifle Hack - Guarantees 1 Legendary or better Assault Rifle. (1000 salvage)

Both appear to be dupe protected and 50 keys for a gun seems... decent? Actually just ran numbers and it’s kinda bad if you have a ton of Mk 2s left. Of which I’m missing a gently caress ton.

May burn a bit of keys on it and the salvage hack chasing the Horizon for a bit longer.

Blackout playable enough for a beta in September? Color me surprised.

Happy Noodle Boy
Jul 3, 2002

So apparently there’s a Blackout reveal this week? Or a BLOPS panel on Comic Con. Anyways here’s some “leaks” on Blackout:

- Largest map in Call of Duty history, but lots of focus on verticality. As seen in the teaser, the map features pieces of iconic maps from previous games. Nuketown is located in the middle of the map as an island, surrounded by water, set after the nuke is dropped. The layout and theme of Nuketown in Blackout is similar to that of Nuketown Zombies from Black Ops 2.
- Aiming for at very least 50 players, currently testing 64 players right now with plans to increase if possible.
- Health is 150HP, replenished via scavengable Medical Kits. Equipping scavenged Armor allows the player to take 1 extra shot, Armor Piercing Rounds will counter the effect of Armor.
- Limited Inventory slots, increased space via scavenged Backpacks.
- Weapon loot has rarity, depending on the rarity your weapon will have different attachments (Higher Rarity = Better/More Attachments). *Subject to change, there are currently talks about attachments being scavenged rather than rarity-dependent.
- Consumable abilities such as the Multiplayer Specialist Abilities. For example, Torque's Portable Barricade with 1x use, Ruin's Grapple Hook with limited uses, and Nomad's Dog which can be commanded to follow the player or guard an area.
- Equipment such as the Recon RC, an RC-XD without explosives, can be scavenged and give the player an advantage. Currently, a Monkey Bomb equipment which doesn't explode can be found, likely a placeholder for a Decoy Grenade.
- Land, air, and sea vehicles as seen in the teaser. The ATV is the only fully-functioning vehicle in the current build.
- The Storm/Gas mechanic is currently a simple visible wall that closes in on the map.
- While players simply parachute into the map. *Subject to change, talks of moving to a spawn-in system similar to Call of Duty: Online are happening

Sooooo it’s basically PUBG with Fortnite weapons which... is probably the best way for them to go about it. Aside from that everything else points to a rushed and nowhere near ready mode which really only further sells the idea that they scrapped the campaign and changed directions halfway into development yet again. The storm mechanic should absolutely be zombies themed so it stands out. You can be “alive” in the storm but more and more zombies will keep spawning around you, forcing you to deplete ammo to stay alive and get out of the storm but it can reward flanking or even luring the zombies from outside of the storm to aid in taking a position. Hopefully they steer further away from the other BG by going all in on streaks and the things that make COD fun but who knows.

Get hyped???

No. Just no.

Also Treyarch has a panel going on right now but I think it’s all zombies related.

EDIT:

New zombies trailer, announcing a new UI to help newer players (showing objectives and poo poo), and a new zombies special edition. The special edition still includes the BOP as announced so they’ve made no changes on that thing yet  Also the new trailer was 100% what the leaker said it would be so you can go ahead and take the earlier post of blackout “leaks” as probably true now.

Been reading on reddit that the beta is available (for free) through the HK store. Making an account, getting the beta, then switching to your main account to play here. Apparently this has been a thing for every COD beta the last few years.
