This banner was the big ticket of the fest for me: my lightning and earth options aren't great, I like all the characters, and I only had one dupe (Garnet's BSB). Managed to get just enough mythril together for three pulls. 100 gems: Ashe's USB  1/11: Ashe's glint 1/11: Maria's BSB At this point I had a very bad feeling about my last pull, but: 3/11: Ashe's LMR, Tifa's glint and Tifa's USB Now I'm flat broke but happy. Didn't luck into any chains but overall this fest has been great, and having fun new toys has really got me back into the game.

What's the advance word on Banner 1 from the next fest? Just curious because I thought it might be a good place to try and snag a lightning chain down the line, but from some comments in Discord it sounds like it's not a well-regarded banner at all.

Add me to the list of last-minute torment farmers. I didn't find slowly wading through waves of tanky trash at all fun originally so I'd pretty much ignored them, but thanks to powercreep (RW Godwall) and just having better options available for my teams, they were pretty enjoyable this time around. Wrapped up all the 300 CMs and most of the 200 CMs in just under two weeks, so now I need to figure out what to focus on next. (Aside from catching up on Jumpstarts when they open this week.)

It's the FFIX banner this week for me, my IX synergy is seriously rough so any of the USBs would help, especially Vivi or Zidane. (What're the odds I end up with two more Hamelins instead?) Edit: For V I have a very buff Krile and Galuf, but never had any luck pulling for Bartz, so I don't think the torment is in my near future. The water banner is a very nice banner that I can never pull on - somebody please shoot me if I consider it. I still don't have Oritsuru or any water chains at all, but I sure do have 10/14 dupes here thanks to fruitlessly chasing them in the past!

One generic setup for jump starts would be one Shout-type buff, one healer to provide a little bit of mitigation, two physical DPS using elements that the boss is weak to or at least neutral, and a free spot - bring an imperil, a chain if you have one, a debuffer if you're worried about the incoming damage, another healer even. RW Cloud USB. Have both DPS summon the RW turn one while you're getting buffed up, then use their best damaging SBs on turn 2. And again turn 3. It's likely that the boss is dead at this point, or very nearly so.

The Daily Draw rate change might have been stealth-implemented with today's maintenance... Not sure why they wouldn't announce it unless it's being saved for the video, but it's worth pulling today if you don't normally.

It's been a pretty slow week thanks to getting The Boys Are Back instead of a normal event, yeah. It'll only pick up from here, at least - Type-0 this week, next week there's a new Torment for VI and the start of RoP, and we get another Torment with the much-hyped VIII banner the following week.

The nice thing about the d240s and d280s is that you can get away with using an out-of-realm character or two, so you can sub in your best healer or a great support character. It's trickier for DPS because they won't benefit from realm chain, but I still ended up bringing Vivi to FFXII just because my only competent synergy character is Ashe. Yup, the OSB lucky seems very questionable value for veterans. Newer players with mythril to spare might as well go for it, though, some great stat sticks there.

Well, I was unreasonably lucky this morning. My ice game isn't great so I saved mythril for 2-3 pulls on Quinoa; I was hoping to see Laguna's chain most of all, but pretty much everything on the banner would be helpful. 100 gems: Quistis's USB 2/11: Squall's BSB (dupe) and his USB 2/11: Another Squall BSB and Rinoa's USB Having 3/5 of the discos made a third pull a very dumb idea, but I really wanted that chain: 1/11:  I guess I can stop worrying about my ice team now, bloody hell. In fact, I should probably try my first d??? torment, except that they scare me.

RoP is very good at dashing your hopes. I have pretty rough IV synergy with only two six stars of any kind, but today's bright shiny disco was a dupe.

People are speculating that the banner rates on the Japanese server may have been changed from 'good' G5 (1 guaranteed 5*+ and 10 random rolls) to 'bad' G5 (11 random rolls, replace one with a 5*+ if all 11 miss - the RoP method), which increases the odds of going 1/11 substantially. Here's the original post on Gamefaqs, some discussion on Reddit, and a graph:  I don't know the source for the original data so perhaps this has been blown out of proportion, but if you were planning to save all your mythril until next March, it might be something to factor in to your plans. Edit: The graph might be somewhat misleading, the normal odds of going 1/11 is about 27-28% based on previous analysis. Personally I'm not sure how seriously to take this.  They're infamously bad banners which are thankfully going to be put out to pasture in a couple of weeks. At the same time we're going to get discounted banners for every realm (15 myth for a full pull), which are a much better bet. The current half-price Dungeon Update Lucky Draw is also not a bad one.

Books 1 and 2 are both full of very dated relics - you're probably not going to get a huge amount of use out of any of them, honestly. I think Bartz's dagger is most often recommended from Vol 1, just because it's a +Wind element boost on a dagger, which comes in handy. Somebody else might be able to steer you right on Vol 2 - the Discord is also a good place to ask.

The latest banner, FFXIII? It's not amazing, but if you like the characters featured (Lightning, Noel, Snow, Vanille), you could do worse. Aside from that, a lot of the answer would depend on what kind of relics you have at the moment, what level of content you're working towards, and how you're doing for mythril. Did you have a chance to pull on Realms on Parade (the 5 mythril draws) before they closed this week?

Yeah, JP must be coming to the end of the Torment 2.0 / 5* magicite rotation now, right? It would make sense for the realm chains to be useful in the new endgame, whatever that turns out to be. People were underwhelmed by elemental chains when they first launched, I think, and now they're indispensable.

Finding things in the vault isn't much of a hindrance now that we have the full array of sort options, so I'd say you might as well chuck everything in there that you don't regularly use, e.g. not +element, not 6*, not your best healer gear. When you're making a specialist team later and you need to find all your FF9 gear or your silence resist armour, it's not a problem to find it in the vault.

Yeah, it's a very good banner but it depends on what gaps you're trying to fill on your roster, like most banners at the moment. I'd love Alph's kit but already have great fire mages and don't need Thancred for anything, so I'll probably have to pass.
