Another day of World Cup football here in our Hublot Forum of Friendship match day thread. The last two non-European sides went out of the competition yesterday. No more Fagner  Today we will see if football is coming home (it isn't), and whether the hosts have doped enough and paid the refs high enough bribes. Sweden vs England, 16:00 CET, 3 p.m. BST, 10 a.m. EST, Samara Russia vs Croatia, 20:00 CET, 7 p.m. BST, 2 p.m. EST, Sochi  This day starts with Sweden vs England. The Swedes got to the quarter finals with a boring 1-0 victory over Switzerland. England meanwhile seem to have overcome their penalty shootout trauma and won such a shootout 4-3 over Colombia. On paper, England are the stronger team, yet it's inevitable that they will fail somewhere along the way to the title. Will this be today, will the Swedes crush the English dream of bringing football back home?  The second match is between Russa and Croatia. Both teams got into the quarterfinal after winning their respective penalty shootouts, with the Russians beating a weak Spanish side while the Croats won over the poor Danes. Croatia have the better team, they've won their group stage games pretty easily. The Russians are surprisingly strong, relative to the expectations pre-tournament that they would suck. This is the match to crown the Slavic master race, and I reckon Croatia have the better chances. So join us for another day of football, with hopefully many goals, cool VAR decisions, Loftus-Cheek and just beautiful football. I can’t believe the third most important day in our lives is already here. Can’t wait for yet another football masterclass from the lads. Tough match for Russia and Croatia, I imagine both will try to lose to avoid getting humiliated in the semis
