Wait wait wait. I think you're all forgetting that it's obviously the cleaner's fault that she was trapped there in the first place.

Taking any kind of action against the building owner would unfairly punish our hallowed job creators. If anything, she owes him an apology.

Maybe if the trains were like in Japan where if they're even a minute late you get a tearful, anxious apology from the CEO of the train company then trains being late not being a valid excuse might be slightly more understandable

Please don't perpetuate this trope. The trains here are often late and there's no seppuku being committed by executives.

The train I was on just a few minutes ago arrived 25 minutes late. That won't get a mention in the paper let alone a press conference by the staff.

Fake edit: gently caress me, they *literally right now* announced a delay on the train I've gotten onto

This is more for auto insurance. And if you're sharing cars or live in the same household you can be on the same plan. Insurance companies rather have the kids spun off asap because they will be more expensive individually than as part of a group plan.

One big reason the parents should probably spin them off to their own plans even if they still pay for it is because anyone named on a policy can be party to a lawsuit. And damages from car accidents often exceed policy limits which would put the parents assets at risk.

Put the assets in the children's names, problem solved!

Weird. In Australia the tap water here is some of the highest quality in the world. I drink straight from the tap and it's fine.

Truth. I lived in western Queensland where the town water came from artesian bores. It was slippery as hell and had a bit of a sulphuric scent to it but was perfectly drinkable. We did have rainwater tanks for drinking water though. The artesian water was for everything else.

On the same topic, I started (but never finished) reading a book by a previous governor of Tokyo where in the first chapter he jerked himself senseless about how awesome and state-of-the-art the Japanese municipal water system is and how OMG you can drink it straight from the tap, a feat which is possible overseas in only <six places, one of which was Sydney>. I wanted to write and correct him but :effort:
