why is there no standard for metadata about block devices and target ports, every vendor wants you to install their horrible management agents

i hate having to figure out what the hell device "ba:db:ad:ba:db:ad:de:ad" or "naa.624a93704bfab20d4b694df7000143ac" points to and people gently caress it up all the time, why can't it include hints about its hostname, storage type and other helpful stuff and why can't a storage consumer send back information about what it's put on a block device like volume groups, filesystem labels or whatever without the need for proprietary agents

It's called egg white. You just need a lighter touch and probably do it more often. Also, get a garlic press.

i've broken at least an egg or two every day for most of my life and i still have not figured out how to do it without getting "egg white" everywhere.

I will argue against a garlic press if only cause they�ve all broke on me and been a pain to clean properly. what I usually do is crush with the flat side of a large knife, slice then mince, and it�s good

yeah that's usually what i do but these directions were specific that i grate and i gave it a shot. it was not a good experience and i hosed up multiple nails by dragging them across a grate hole

like remember how easy it was to change display resolution/colors with the control strip. but in osx i gotta go into system prefs to change my mbp scaling which i do at least twice a day. not good, imo.

the ikea garlic press is fine for hanging on the wall while I bash garlic cloves with a 15 oz can of garbanzo beans

(the lip on the bottom of the can acts as a stop, so you don't over-crush it. perfect every time)

get a microplane grater and hold the garlic by the stem

or get one of those daikon grinders from an asian store which use plastic nubs instead of metal
