So, since I'm assuming anyone in this thread would be familiar with the events of SEN III, I was wondering who everyone thought the last Awakener will end up being. My guess is Renne, based on the extremely scientific reasoning that they released a screenshot of her early, making me think she has a more pertinent part in the plot to play than Estelle and Joshua do. Also, there's plenty of speculation the last knight is in Crossbell, which would fit too. ALSO how is she supposed to have friendly giant robot duels with Tita, as promised in 3rd, if she doesn't have a giant robot? In conclusion, It's probably gonna be Juna or something.

I'd been thinking Angie or Olivert but I saw someone mention just today the connection between Gordias and gold. Makes you think huh. Could easily see it being Ash too. Whoever it is, I'm betting we're going to be escorting them through their trials as this game's old schoolhouse equivalent. IIRC they've already said there's going to be one.

It being olivier would give them a non-asspull out on the whole courageous went kaboom thing but since it's falcom they wouldn't kill both Victor and Toval anyway so they probably all survived through a different method. I still think there's good odds it's him just independent of that, would finally give him something to do in CS if not that Ash.

Bleublanc probably saved him, he totally bowed out of helping Ouroboros when they started teaming up with Osborne but he was probably still around checking things out so he saved everyone at the last second because he will not let his rival die.

Bleublanc also pretty much dipped because Vita was no longer involved, and the above theory is just something he'd do, honestly. Something about beauty, yada yada.

I can definitely see BB saving Olivier, though I wonder if he'd bother saving Toval, victor and the rest of the crew as well. As for Ash, he's definitely a good chance of being the last awakener. He'd be in especially good company with Crow, Rutger and Arianrhod since I'm pretty much 95% sure at this point that he didn't actually survive Hamel.

So here's a question: What twist that involves Elliot or Machias will happen? Like every single Class VII character has some importance in the grand scheme of things but Machias and Elliot are still kinda there in terms of importance, hell even Gaius is now one of the most powerfull characters in the good guys side. Machias wears glasses so is he evil? Is Elliot the Grandmaster?

One thing I've always wondered about is how much Machias's dad actually knows. Like he is supposed to be a top aide, but... he's basically a glorified mayor, and you don't necessarily need to invite the guy you hired to win public support by making sure poor neighborhoods get their garbage picked up on time to the "Please provide me Calvard invasion plans within a week, no, no particular reason, just in case" meetings with the generals.

So what do you guys think about who will be the final divine knight? My best guess is Olivier, since I seem to remember some interview response implying that he might be alive, and that would be one way for him to stay alive, given there seems to be some way for divine knight "owners" to cheat death or come back to life. I'm pretty hype about this game. The one advantage to having kind of shaky Japanese is that it makes the game take a really long time to play. CS3 took me like 120 hours or something, just because it took me a long time to translate dialogue. edit: Oh, just saw you guys mentioning this above. I think I mentioned this in the other thread, but my favored (but doubted) choice would be Ash, just because I like him a lot and want him to have a big role in things. edit2: As an unrelated thing, one thing I liked about CS3's ending is that Osbourne's plan actually made sense. It annoys me when enemy mastermind plans rely on the protagonist doing certain things or winning certain fights, but Osbourne set things up so that his goal would be achieved regardless of whether Rean made it to him. If Rean can't get through the barrier or gets stopped by some of the people put in his way, Cedric kills Altina and uses sword-Altina to kill the corrupted guardian beast and release the curse. If he can get through (as he does), Osbourne just forces him to fight the dragon, which is a lose-lose proposition (since defeating it releases the curse as well). CS2 is a little weirder in that I'm not sure what Osbourne's plan would have been if Rean/Crow weren't able to stop Testarossa, but presumably he could have just dealt with it using his divine knight-equipped allies (at least Claussel and spear-lady whose name I forget). Ytlaya posted:So what do you guys think about who will be the final divine knight? it's also just long as hell, i cleared it in over 100 while Ao only took me 60 and both were in japanese. Anyway, Olivier would be cool since he really hasnt gotten to do much in Cold Steel although i don't think it'll be how he survives since i dont think they'll kill both toval and victor.

Speaking of Ash, am I the only one who got "BL character" vibes from him?Cake Attack posted:it's also just long as hell, i cleared it in over 100 while Ao only took me 60 and both were in japanese. Eh, I won't be surprised at all if both Toval and Victor stay dead. Victor had already "passed the mantle" so to speak and wasn't doing so hot due to the aftereffects of his fight with McBurn (though I can't remember if that just made him weaker or if it was actually killing him), and Toval is a pretty minor (and thus expendable) character. Olivier staying dead is harder to buy. To be honest, I would like him to stay dead just because the alternative is kind of predictable (same goes for Angela*), but I really doubt they're going to just end Olivier's story - a character who has been around since Sky 1 - with him getting totally owned and exploded. * I really liked how they set you up for a "Angela isn't actually dead" twist, what with not directly showing her death and creating the opening for George's redemption, and then George is like "uh, I told you I killed her" to Towa. I will not be happy if they go back on that and pull a George redemption. Ytlaya fucked around with this message at 02:32 on Aug 3, 2018 |

As much as I love Olivier, part of me hopes the three of em are actually dead, just so somebody stays dead in these games. The way things are going I'm half expecting Loewe to show up alive, again. I'm more interested in Angelica's fate, honestly. The game clearly sets it up as her not really being dead, but I don't really have many theories on what actually happened to her. If George confronted her alone that would be one thing, but Alberich was there too... edit: as said above, I really really want George to stay evil.

my rule of thumb is that if there's enough ambiguity to even have the debate, they're not dead.

When's the last non-dramatic death though When the manager of a small town gets a long cutscene, there's no way they're just unceremoniously killing off named characters in the most bloodless series
