I voted for Nader because I knew that Obama wasn't a socialist hero, and wanted to be able to gloat about it later. Nader being the go-to option for "I'm clearly wasting my vote on purpose to make some sort of point"

I voted for Obama for all the same reasons everyone else did.

Sorry he renewed the sunset provisions in the Patriot Act, extended Bush's tax cuts, hosed over Libya, repealed Habeus Corpus, cost the Democrats 1000 seats... and in a sense put us on the course for Trump, particularly with the TPP at the end.

Feels bad man.

If you were a liberal in 2008 you'd have no way of seeing it coming. I think we all expected he'd disappoint on some things but only the most cynical folks thought he'd be virtually another term of Bush.

More like a bill clinton football pull: campaign as a liberal, become a Esienhower democrat

At least Obama managed to get health care, sort of

I will agree with you on one point: when it comes to all that illegal etc nat security stuff, he really was Bush's succsessor

So envious of all the people living in states that have more than just the Dem/Rep candidates on the ballot for presidency.

I voted for McCain and actually got excited for Palin. Then Obama gave me health insurance for the first time and I eventually realized the GOP had a nasty case of "literally no redeeming qualities" so I voted straight-ticket Dem in 2012 and will continue to do so.

Looking back I'm really scared of the places I used to get news from because I'm pretty sure I'd have followed them into purestrain CHUD territory. I definitely remember hanging with College Republicans who were praising Pinochet and proto-alt right crap, although they were so lame even my idiot self didn't want to be associated with them.

I thought my ideas were so clear. I wanted to make an honest post. No lies whatsoever.

Proudly voted for Nader because Obama seemed like a neoliberal piece of poo poo who didn't actually have a real message.

I was hoping I was wrong but looks like history had other plans.
