Carly shook her glass, willing the ice to melt. "You still haven't told me what the mission is."

She leaned forward. "We are going to assassinate the bad men of Hollywood."

Mass Effect 1 is fine to replay as long as you console cheat yourself to a million bazillion credits and Spectre weapons right away so you don't have to fiddle around with omni-gel for 10 hours.

Same with ME2 and planet scanning.

I don't know what the first one would be, but that wouldn't even be close. There are NES games that have jiggling

On the other hand, I never finished my abortive re-attempt of Prey, and I've got like a million Switch games I could be playing like Hollow Knight, Octopath Traveller, but every time I pick it up I suddenly don't want to play it anymore????

It’s almost definitely some early Japanese PC game. Didn’t even Enix start out making porn games?

I finally got around lovely youtube's terrible adsense country lock rule and got a sweet 1.1k buckaroos from my lovely hobby channel to spread around as I wish. Unfortunately most of it is going to boring stuff like bills and food but still nice.

More unfortunately I have to go to a BBQ hosted by my father-in-law tomorrow and he hates me so that will be miserable. Hoping the weather websites are right and it rains so it gets cancelled.

I dunno if the stretches would really help, the soreness is all in my torso mostly and it's from thrashing about in my sleep.

Not much. Keep in mind in the 10 years I've had my channel I've made like 5-7k dollars total. I was part of the early Let's Play boom, and got a bit of a following uploading videos of games before their street date releases (Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect) and import games a lot of people couldn't access before emulation became as user friendly as it is today.

That said, it's never been more than a hobby for me and I just sort of upload footage of whatever I feel like playing at the time so it's neat to have that money trickle in for no real "work" at all.

Youtube's Adsense is set up in such a way that once you set your country, it's locked in, so while I could get my money no problem while in Canada after I moved and closed my bank accounts up there I was hosed. The money just kept piling up in limbo for years til I convinced someone back home to open an account for me to have the money dumped into and Western Union it down.

It'll go a long way in helping us claw our way out of the debt-hell getting our cat healthy was, so I'm happy.

Sorry to hear about your pain, I deal with that sort of thing a lot myself and I usually just take way too many painkillers, which I do not recommend.

I appreciate the condolences. Thankfully I'm fine, well, as fine as I can be with this stuff. My pain is just from night terrors, I don't really have any control of it. It's like the kind of pain you'd get from exercising, because I'm basically doing a bunch of stretches and flailing in my sleep lol

For now, I'm working on this rpg campaign I want to run using this system called Gratuitous Anime Gimmick or GAG for short. Right now I just need to get character sheets made for it because I have some encounters and campaign poo poo together but there are some things I'd like to write that will have their characters more involved in.

I just had the strangest sense of deja vu that this has all happened before, and it probably is because I'm a goddamned see'n'say, just pull the lever, let the arrow spin, "THE KITE SAYS [_______________]" hahaha

What was the earliest game with a dynamic soundtrack? Total Annihilation is the first one I can think of where the music shifted when a battle starts.

Monkey Island 2's soundtrack pioneered the full range of dynamic soundtrack features used in games nowadays. It wasn't the first dynamic soundtrack but it may have been the first to do it seamlessly, and save for the use of recorded music there basically hasn't been a dynamic soundtrack feature since that wasn't already in MI2. Besides the wealth of available options and mechanisms for seamless transitions, Imuse's (as the system was called) great insight was that the interaction goes both ways: the soundtrack is aware of the game but the game is also aware of the soundtrack and can adapt some of its aspects to it (to take a modern example, the diva boss in NieR automata will time its different attack phases exactly to the start of different parts of the music). The greatest illustration of that was the first town in MI2 where the soundtrack seamlessly adapts depending on which house you enter to better fit its occupant (BOTW has a less elaborate version of this).

Before that, Wing commander had pioneered the dynamic soundtrack one year earlier but the cuts were more abrupt and mere track changes.

Prior to those you only get very basic stuff with sudden untimed track changes or silencing specific channels. Frogger is supposed to be the very first.
