Popete posted:Ugh wish they were just doing a rolling midnight release. Looking forward too this, looks like a lot of fun. The devs seem to emphasis it'll be playable long term which I hope is true and its not just a set of "missions" where your old hospitals become irrelevant and you reach an end state after the final hospital. This is kind of my concern - what is the plan for long term content? Are there going to be future DLC (free or paid?), user generated maps/mods (!), etc? Some more info on that is what's keeping this from being a day 1 purchase for me.

So uh what's the best way to increase attractiveness? I'm trying to 3 star a couple early hospitals and one of them requires 65%, whereas I seem to be stuck at 58%. Adding more wall hangings doesn't seem to do much, should I move along until I unlock more items or ???

Which hospital starts getting difficult? I know I'm not there yet, just curious which one it is (and how many hospitals there even are, really).

I found another annoying bug with the guest lecturers - twice now I've had students get up and leave mid-lecture for whatever reason and then not return, which means the lecturer doesn't finish and just stands there. Plopping the students back in the room doesn't fix it, and I can have other lectures happen while the guest just stands there. If I edit the room and move it (even just pick it up and put it back down), they'll leave, but now I have a half done training that I'll probably have to pay for again. Not a huge issue, just kind of irritating. I can't even seem to reassign the students to go to the lecture and do nothing else, haven't found a workaround.

Man, 90% cure rate for Melt-downs is rough. I can't kick people out fast enough. Doesn't help that I have a massive queue at all levels of intake - probably need to just up my prices across the board and bring in fewer patients.

This game starts to feel very sandbox-y in later hospitals. I'm in Pelican Wharf right now and it's a struggle to even hit 2 stars - even without using the medicine cabinet thing (I have a total of zero in the entire hospital), my queues are <4 for anything unless I'm running both training rooms at the same time, I don't have more than 2 of any given diagnosis or treatment room, cure rate is high...I'm basically waiting be able to train the researchers and to sell off/rebuy enough machines to get 15 upgrades again. I guess I could start running a ton of marketing campaigns?

Submarine Sandpaper posted:what're the goals? I had a big ol' lol at just giving all my staff massive raises to hit 75% happiness in hospital 3. To get the second star: Train 2 staff in Research IV (LOL, I have almost everything researched already), Upgrade 15 machines (I guess I could build a third Helixer and Megascan, they'll sometimes get a queue), and Cure 200 patients. There just is no real content - I own every building but I'm using about 1/2 of them, I'm working on letting go of early hired staff with bad skillsets to get everything up to level 3/4, but it's just killing time. There just isn't much endgame content, and unless there is some very substantial DLC I will probably shelve it. Edit: OK, I switched over to Rotting Hill and even the first star here is a challenge - 70% staff happiness. I can't seem to get above 55%, not even sure how to go about it. Not So Fast posted:
Because it requires so many cures to get each star, it's actually really easy to get a lot of high level staff to keep your queues manageable. I don't think I've gotten more than 110 patients at any given time, even with multiple marketing campaigns running at any given time.

Torrannor posted:The diagnose may be wrong, which means trying to treat the wrong illness will kill them. This. Diagnosis is almost always your main bottleneck, outside of emergencies and procedures that take a long time or require specialists, if they are in short supply. There are certain win/star conditions where eliminating deaths is more important though, so play to the goals set for you.

Alchenar posted:I don't think this is a game you can mainline. I'm similarly on map 10 and just burnt out on having to shuffle rooms around as I expand the campus. Time for a break. It's funny. I haven't gotten around to Campus yet, but I was absolutely having a blast with the main game of Hospital - I mainlined that one hard. But when the DLC rolled around, I just couldn't get into it the same way. I wonder what the reason is, and if Campus will be the same as the Hospital DLC.
