Ravens are really a charmed franchise in regards to run defense. It's been fantastic something like 18 of our 21 years.

We've also never allowed a 200 yard rusher, ever. Only franchise this is true for.

Colts drafted 2 rookie RB's, but won't let either of them run with the 1st team in preseason, probably because they don't trust their pass blocking. But uh, they are going to have to do it sometime.

Quick get pessimistic about this or you're going to jinx it

...I just realized I sound like I'm making fun of you but I mean it, anytime Kawalimus gets optimistic poo poo gets BAD for the ravens. The year he toxxed to be optimistic was horrible.

I toxxed to be neutral at worst, and we were so bad that year that being negative would've just been piling on. We just had a bunch of bad injuries and that's why we were so abysmal.

I mean we'll eventually allow one, all it takes is like two big runs in one game. But it's nice that we're the last franchise to not have one allowed. Also that toxx took effect after I was 100% sure we would lose to the Steelers again :)

Especially post-Newsome where we might not put the same emphasis on run stopping that we always have while he's been around.

Yeah, but our LT is out hurt and the good RB's are all injured or playing with 2nd team so the first team can't really run.

Ravens using the Pats strategy of drafting and developing a replacement QB to motivate their aging starter.

Yeah I thought he looked really good in pass pro. I saw him isolate his guy several times well away from the pocket even when other guys were giving up pressures and sacks.

With Lamar Jackson... I don't know what to think. I still believe he could be amazing but it's really all contingent on him improving his throwing. Definitely the narrative has changed from "can he push Flacco out of the starting job?" to "can he be a successful quarterback in this league at all?"

That being said it's only week 2 of the preseason and in this game he keeps being given third and long.

Not a fumble he's down
