Ragnarok Online was my first MMORPGs, back then there were no real private servers so I remember trying to beg my mum to purchase a subscription for me, she didn't

To answer your question, no there will never be a good MMO again, unless we get a real world equivalent of SAO that is.

Saw that Granado Espada released a new server, that game had some amazing character, music, and location design, and I have not found an MMO since that let you collect so many characters to use. It is a pity the core gameplay was so crap.
