In my city (Atlanta) I've noticed that the F-150 platinum is the go to "rich guy car" for middle aged white guys these days.

I wonder when we're bosses/in higher leadership positions in 10 years or whatever if the younger people that work under us complain on the internet about how we talk about the "golden age of video games" (Quake 3 Arena) and how you "can't see out of cars these day" and "that new Tesla ain't no Mark III Supra!"

I don't need the physical stuff (though I'd still like it. I don't have the space.) Pre-ordered on iTunes, though, Thanks!
What song did they collab with Richard K. Morgan on? Something about Altered Carbon, one expects.

I have a pretty solid personal rule about facebook/social media. Block anyone even slightly related to the company I currently work at. Also when leaving, only unblock if I've bumped into them at the pub etc and had a good laugh about the place if they have also left. Not sure why but I like my personal/social life being 100% separate from work.

So apparently only one out of the 20-30 shops in the area around me will actually still turn brake rotors, and they want $50/ea + labour + tax.

Replacement rotors for the Versa are $57/ea + tax. RIP brake lathes.

No O'Reilly here. I bought the cheapest pair Carquest sells because I'm gonna put the Versa up for sale as soon as my Forte arrives and I want it to pass a safety as well as fix the shimmy.

I'm actually gonna miss the Versa when it's gone. It's been a fun car to flog.

I always just go with replacements. I haven't had rotors turned in 25 years. It saves so much drama, it's well worth the cost (and sometimes it's even cheaper to buy rotors than have the existing ones turned, because :911: )

RIP.

I'm not sure what to do now. I'm down to the Saabaru, which is practical but I don't get any joy out of driving. In the Saabaru I feel like I'm confined in a cave, pushing around a heavy machine; in the Miata I felt like I was flying like a wind-up mechanical bird.

I can host two cars in my current living situation but I'm not sure if I'm going to move in the future. I'm looking at new jobs and don't know if I'm going to drive or bike to my next one. There will probably still be driving in my future back and forth between my kid's mom's house.

I'd like to get this as a replacement but I'm not sure it makes sense to do so right now: https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/d/2010-mazda-mx-5-miata/6704553450.html

It does seem well-priced NC2 spec'ed the way I want it (Bilstein/LSD/etc), already has a hitch for my bike rack, etc - basically the best NC option I've seen, and it's close to me.

I could disable the passenger airbag and put my kid up front while he's still rear-facing (another 2-3 years). Jury's still out how safe it'd be once he's forward facing/in a booster, I need to do more research. If he'd be safe enough, I could renounce women altogether, sell the Saabaru and make the NC2 my only vehicle, practicality be damned.

Roads were wet for the first time in months.

I was in the right most lane of an elevated freeway with little no/shoulder. A lifted Dodge Ram in the left lane starts to enter my lane and is about to collide or drive over me. I try to take evasive maneuvers. I get out of his way but start to spin and hit the concrete barrier on the edge of the freeway. The Miata took it like a champ and I walked away but it's totalled (by $53).

Nope. Not anymore. The Levorg especially - it'll be 5000kms short. I'm doing all my services based on time now and even then the Forester only would be once a year and it'll be STILL short on kms.

I only got mine done today as part of the head replacement lol. Granted it was right at the 3k mark, but that's 10 months on conventional which is probably not ideal.

Still, I checked the other night when the spark plug blew out and the oil was still kissing the upper line on the dipstick, so at least i've got effectively zero burning/leaking going on.

E: I do have to take it back for a code that popped up as I was driving home from the shop, P0153 which suggests an air leak given the manifold had to come off.
