Why isn't there a TF2 CCG? All those hats and weapons could probably be hammered into different sets, somehow.

that would require valve to give a single gently caress about TF2 as a franchise. they gave a half a gently caress back in 2017. the free to play update was a mistake.

I have my Axecoin auto-buy at 3 cents still. There's a 130 left on the market starting at 26 cents and slowly rising.

Thinking back to the three games I played with a friend around launch. Both of us got bored and wondered why it took so long to play each turn.

The draft mode was pretty drat fun when you’d get a few good heroes or just our value a dude who had axe by stranding him in a lane with your strong creeps. Game could have been fun if they made it free to play and made that the whole point of it instead of the garbage constructed mode which sucked so hard.

It's funny because the game's name is actually what it ended up becoming.

Last year people were talking about why Valve doesn't really make games anymore and it's pretty clear at some point the most influential people in the company decided to go hard on hardware and peripherals (which is a decision you make when you have no shareholders and have an effectively infinite amount of money that you should be spending but aren't inclined to hire more staff than you strictly need).

Becoming a producer of high end hardware for a company with a relatively small amount of personnel like Valve would indeed take a decade or so to develop something like the Steam Deck.

Apart from the bandwagon projects related to DOTA 2, the only games to appear have been in support of hardware and peripherals.

Yeah they should have waited and kept it as a Steam Deck launch title to show off the touch screen or cross-platform Source 2. Then it would have been a good game.

tbh a few more years in the oven may have actually made it a good game; the card set at launch was like playing pauper Magic with the commons and uncommons from a lovely core set and the only interesting complexity came from trying to manage three playfields at once

it's got a clear downward trend on steam charts, but it seems to have leveled out at around 2.5k average over the past 6 months, which is probably a sustainable enough population for now

it's never going to get another update, though, so it's hard to tell how long those diehards'll stick around for

I made a dumdum :(
This reminds me of when I was bored and watched MTG streams on twitch and there was this guy without a facecam that I started to watch because no facecam, this was just before artifact was about to come out and this guy went on and on how artifact was going to be The Cardgame for Super Serious Professionals and it was going to kill off MTG forever and I just found it annoying and stopped watching him.

Your bump just reminded me of him and it made me smile, anyway thanks for listening on my TED talk please buy more artifact tokens.
