I know they've mostly talked about cards being sold on Steam market, but I don't think there are any items that can be sold on Steam market that can't also be traded directly. Hopefully someone will create something like https://www.steamcardexchange.net/, but for Artifact.

This game looks very good and I am very excited to play it. All the info that came out of Pax was awesome and it just looks so polished. I'm hoping I can somehow find my way into the beta. I really want to play Black/Green, for some reason those two colors seem like the most fun to me. In particular the Green heroes seem really good.

Marketplace only trading is what I have been hearing from Tyler from Valve News Network and other sources. I don't think that it has been confirmed by Valve, but that's what people think is going to happen.

I'm actually going to the disgusting extreme of playing the Artifact mod on Tabletop Simulator. Takes at least an hour to play a game and you roll all the dice yourself, and I'm still enjoying it.
