But it turns out (for people who aren't mentally deficient at least) that most allegations are blatantly credible and even one credible allegation is too many.

Yeah it's confusing to my human brain, because it sounds 100% in line with everything else and the only people who would go "aha, false allegation!" don't believe any of them to begin with.
