the gameplay loop of subnautica is better than no man's sky... with each iteration of the loop you have a tangible sense of progress, in exploration, power, knowledge, and resources

with each iteration of the loop of no man's sky you don't get more powerful, the knowledge you gain is intentionally microscopic, you get hundreds of blueprints that are either redundant or unimportant, and even on the original game difficulty you never have the resources you want because you're forced to use them to refuel your tools/suit or give up inventory slots

Well here's a weird bug I ran into in MGSV:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfQL11vE0tY

I couldn't get out of the menu cause it wanted to do a tutorial thing, but I had no idea how to do the tutorial because Ocelot's instructions were being overridden by his being-punched-at dialogue. I have no idea how i caused Snake to start punching while opening up the map thing either

Also does the entire game take place in Afghanistan? For reference I just extracted Miller and am on the base learning the balloon thing. I will say I'm super NOT digging it so far, both the gameplay and the setting. It just doesn't feel like a MGS game so far outside of the wacky poo poo that happened at the start. Something about the gameplay just felt really off and I didn't enjoy that initial saving Miller thing in that desert base. The best part was the chase through the fog afterwards. But maybe it'll pick up

Also a horse? Get out of here with a HORSE

"My brain is amazing! It's full of wrinkles, and... Uh... Wait... What am I trying to say?"
I really like a lot about Subnautica, but I find basically every enemy really annoying. I did have a spooky moment that was way more effective than any actually horror I've played recently.

I haven't tried it out on whatever creative mode it might have though.

I mostly play No Man's Sky as a discord-chatting game with friends, one of them does actual progression/missions and I just piggyback on his jumps and wander the systems taking photos of weird poo poo.

MGSV has the best hiding in a box gameplay of the whole series.

You can drift in the box

Yes.

I also really liked the setting, and the boss fights, and the characters, and whatever. I love MGS1 to death, but all four are great. V just doesn't have the same feeling to me, with the exception funny enough, of the hospital at the start where you are literally trying to escape through hallways :v:

But again I'm also very early in the game

I played some Magic the Gathering yesterday, after not having touched it in years. It felt so much slower than I remember: lots of consecutive turns with no one attacking (or attacking with the lone 1/1 flying creature), games lost because either I drew too many lands or nowhere near enough, playing against a deck the consistently made me discard my entire hand...

I think hearthstone is definitely the better game

The draft modes are fun but also expensive as heck unless you're real good at it. Shame too, I'd probably play it all the time over HS otherwise.

If I could just do drafts (and sealed I guess) all the time at a reasonable cost I would play a ton of MTG arena.

Unfortunately that’s not the case so I will never play it

The game contains a copy of Mein Kampf and you can't progress until you read the whole thing.
