It's the buzzer I love the most. Makes me feel alive. Makes the V8's dead.

I worked as a mechanic in a shop that had one similar to this, I'd love to find one for myself. It was a handheld unit, not wall mounted. It had a level you could move from side to side while blasting the plug, I think it changed the angle of the sand blasting head inside the tool so it cleaned all surfaces of the plug. Try flipping the lever back and forth while blasting the plug and see if it does a better job cleaning.

The lever switches between blast with sand and just blow, to clean the sand out of the plug. They use a carborundum media, not sand. (They don't work as well with sand)

You are also in luck, harbour freight started carrying them a few years back:

and for Canadians

I use it all the time for rotary plugs and other two strokes.

Absolutely loving the new car and antiques as well. Keep posting!

I'm deathly afraid I will hate driving my '79 RX-7 when I get it functional again. I *know* I hate driving the AE86, but that's partially because it needs steering and suspension (and probably brake) work that I don't want to do. My Cutlass there are enough aftermarket bits available to make it at least competent compared to modern handling and braking.

I felt this way on my FB after getting used to the BMW, it was a terrible feeling. Fast forward a couple years and driving the FB brings me tons of joy again. Don't worry, the visceral fun of the rx will please you, if only on fun drives.

Interesting article, but what caught my attention was the mention of this place: https://www.tailothepup.com/. It looks wild, will have to add it to the list for next time I visit LA. Very cool people are saving some of these old places.

That idle hour restoration is beautiful. I really enjoy you sharing the old LA historical stuff, almost as much as your car posts. Thanks!
