That article is hilarious!

I know new cars are safer and I have a brand new car for the kids but when my first was born all I had was a 92 honda, and when I grew up we didn't have any stinking car seats. I take them out in my Japanese imports with just seatbelts around town. I love my kids more than life but you can't just worry all the time.

Keep hold of your interests and share it with your kids, I let way too much go when I got married and had kids but trying to bring that back...

Honestly 5.4 million sounds entirely reasonable for that (as an outsider who has never been to California but watches way too much HGTV).

But in other talk what is going to happen to all the cars? Already nearly no one wants ore-war stuff. 50s stuff that isn’t “special” is dropping fast bc the people who grew up listing after it are aging out. I think 60s stuff has a lot left because it kind of became the “modern” age.

But right now I’d have to imagine a gold 57 Chevy which used to be the bell mark is easier and less expensive than a pristine Civic Si that have been going for $50-70k

At some point just pull the good bits like the awesome wheels and plate and toss the rest in the dump. This is coming from someone who owns over 20 cars.

Toyota dealerships have a free shipping deal going right now up to $200 free. I have a 92 Cruiser on the way and I’ve already said too much. Yes I’m adding a LHD to the fleet my oldest has been begging...more to come

Film as much as you can, but I know editing can become a full time job. I just throw up content with no editing. But this rare car calls for a series and effort. I’ll be the first to subscribe

Those glasses are so cool! With so much awesomeness you have collected how do you decide what to use/open/keep? Do you sell much? I’d have to imagine you have some valuable items collecting dust

IGA in Cincinnati sold generic beer in white cans when I lived there a horrible year turn of the century. It was pretty bad.

IGA down the street still sells mac n cheese boxes for 32 cents I think it’s good my kids don’t love it so I never get it any more.

Very cool! But alas the best time to buy a Delorean was years ago prices are going up up. It is really awesome your cool cars get “work” and you get these awesome experiences. I need to enjoy my fleet more

It’s 100% clear to me they used your car I wouldn’t even doubt that. I remember when you originally posted about it. That is so beyond cool.

I’d like to play that game sometime to see it just can’t get the motivation to do any video games when I have so much car worth to do - maybe I’ll try this fall when the kids are going to bed early again for school.

Would it help to get one of those endoscopic cameras that hook to your phone and tape it to look for the timing while your head is above and safe?

What is that blue car in the poster? Obviously Italian, possibly Ferrari, but I've never seen a car with that very interesting rear window detail - the zigzag, there. That is a very cool car, and I love that it's Not Red.
Actually, Alfa, given the other tow cars in the poster?

.

I’m going to take a guess the artist took some artistic liberties, that would be an insanely expensive and rare rear glass to produce.

But always the possibility it’s a one off coach built body by Zagato or something…

If you have the ultimate edition of the motor in your hands it sure seems like that’s the way to go, you obviously love the car. Sell what you need to and put the time and money into the awesome engine.

You sound like you are doing what I’ve done my whole life. Acquire the great stuff but put it away “until the right time” or sell it “because it’s worth so much so I’ll just stick with what I have”.

I found a tiny example last year a box of awesome pencils and stickers and just the best of the best you could have had at school in the 80’s. Untouched and pristine that I set aside and just used garbage bc I was saving them (for when?) - now I could not care less my kids don’t want the stuff might as well throw it in the trash.

I just bought my dream Land Cruiser in Japan but I’m already thinking and knowing I won’t keep it I’ll just sell it and drive my beater just waiting for the right time (til when I’m a millionaire? Dead?)
