Don't most people charge their phones at night on the bedside table while they sleep? A giant light up charging pad is not really ideal for that.

I taught a seven year old ages ago who was obsessed with Naruto and genuinely thought that running with his arms flailing behind him like that was faster than pumping your arms. The kid had all sorts of issues because his mum was addicted to World of Warcraft and basically neglected him and his little brother. I actually tried to watch a few episodes of Naruto so I could connect with him but the show is garbage. And I've seen all of Dragonball Z and Bleach.

I opened my hand to drop the twigs and junk, and there was a big honking spider clinging to my finger. My only thought was, "I hope I didn't hurt him!" Ya there are only a tiny handful of spiders in the world that will actually gently caress you up, most of the ones that have venomous bites are no worse than a bee sting.

They'll spend millions of dollars and work 100-hour weeks for years developing a weather and lighting systems that lets me watch sunlight filter accurately through a procedurally generated billion-particle mist that's emanating realistically off my horse's organically temperature-and-weather-responsive balls, but NPC AI is still this same loving binary state that games have had for 25 years where NPCs flip between either being at peace or in an unending murderous rage, such that all you need to do is step on a loving chicken's foot outside a farm and suddenly, with hive-mind-like immediacy, every NPC in the vicinity will take up arms and home on you until you've killed them all or left the area. voiceless anal fricative has a new favorite as of 00:38 on Oct 31, 2018 |

hawowanlawow posted:They definitely cost a lot more than that I think you're overestimating the material costs involved in building these things. As consumer goods they'd be significantly more expensive, but then you're paying for the IP and markups at various points in the sales chain too. The company also has costs involved in the design and manufacturing capital for the bots, outfitting the warehouse etc, but once that's done their only costs are the materials for the bots which would not be expensive at all. Certainly not much more than the forklifts/carts etc that their employees would be using anyway. To contribute a gif, here's how Amazon are doing it: https://i.imgur.com/ptiKnRp.gifv These bots are probably significantly more expensive because they carry a lot more weight but even if they're like $20000, they're still free labour within 6 months compared to an employee anywhere in the US. They're also much more efficient, and can work 24hrs a day. And again, keep in mind that their employees would probably be driving a forklift or something similar anyway which would cost about the same or more.

You really think those dudes will be lying on their death beds, all loose skin and saggy old man tits, and thinking "yeah I'm glad I dedicated like 30yrs of my life to looking muscular" ? Like I'm all for maintaining a reasonable level of fitness because it only takes a few hours a week and makes the rest of your life more enjoyable. Beyond a certain point though it starts detracting from your life and becoming an end unto itself.
