Same, being at at-large member is very....underwhelming at the moment. I wanna organize pro gamers but there are too many drat scabs and otherwise low class-conscious people

By the way, since convention minutes aren't out yet: there's a proposal going to referendum about having a structural reform committee (I forget the exact name) and at least one member would have to be at-large, to hopefully address the issues of a large share of members. Nominations are open until September 30th over email so nominate yourself or any other folks you think would be good

Hopefully it leads to a better onboarding process for at large peeps though, I'd love to be more in contact with the main body and help a bit more than 20bux

A thought came to me while discussing wobblies on the socialism discord - The structure of the IWW should be very familiar to all of us. A self-regulating, decentralized coalition well past its glory days and diminishing from a decline in membership. Sound familiar? Wobblies or Goons - What's the difference? Collectively we can do anything (but make a video game), from ruining EVE to granting the wish of an bigot with a processed meat dream. Why not rally again to make a difference? For as little as $6 or as much as $33/month you can directly support international labor. If you have a local branch you can get directly involved. If you don't have a local branch, you're never going to get one if you don't join and spread the word. https://www.iww.org/content/join-one-big-union Do Something Awful - Make the world wobble!

"Paid officer of another union" means an elected position, not like a union's staff, right?

Is that Sky Pilot dead? He has a halo. I'm thinkin about joining the IWW but there's no local chapters and I don't have the personal motivation to be in charge of organizing anything. I barely keep up with organizing my own life. Maybe I'll sleep on it and decide in early October when my four year anniversary at work is.

I'm gonna try to join the IWW as a "of the world" non-US type, there's no local branch here but I know there are a few wobblies around.

I'd recommend the documentary as well. It's nice to see old people reminiscing about the time they tried to overthrow capitalism instead of bitching that everyone doesn't work hard enough. Does anyone know the mining song that plays around an hour and eight minutes in?

I signed up on the 20th and was able to login yesterday. They don't send a confirmation email, so I'd say check in 5 days.
