I was in high school when 9/11 happened and what I remember most is one week after it happened there were military recruiters in the commons area at lunch and the line to enlist stretched all the way through the cafeteria out into the parking lot. All these wide eyed 17-18 year old dudes with fantasies about being the guy who gets to personally kill Ben Laden. Most of those dudes are probably dead by now.

Most of those dudes are probably dead by now. funny enough, i was in middle school, seventh grade on 9/11 and seeing the military choices by the Bush administration cemented in my mind that I would most certainly _not_ be joining the military, even though it seemed like a good idea. I remember my Dad scared that night that it meant there would be a draft and his sons would have to go die like in Vietnam.
