Watched this last night at Luna Leederville. I was pretty high and I liked it a lot. I found a lot of the tonal shifts jarring at the time but the more I think about it the more I liked it. I liked that all the elements of fantasy were grounded in really benign circumstances. The demons were just bikers insane on drugs, the cult was just a cult, led by a narcissist failed rockstar. When Mandy dies Red relapses hard and all the crazy action is because he is extremely high on drugs. Linus Roache’s performance was absolutely fantastic, and Cage’s naked display of grief was so awkwardly true it was hard to watch. Even stuff like how he staggers around from place to place but once he takes the mix he becomes this insane juggernaut. Yeah this film was sick
