Also, it was legitimately funny episode while also throwing in some political, "nobody cares as much as they should about school shootings" into it.

A nice mix and I am glad South Park is back.

I'm not sure if that was quite as insightful as "Britney's New Look" but it was somewhere in that same dark zone. More of a gut-punch than a gut-buster. Randy with the handkerchief was really funny though.

It was wise of them not to do a 3rd instance of the handkerchief gag. 2 was perfect, and I was dreading a 3rd that would run the gag into the ground.

It was a good episode, really not sure what the other folks were talking about not liking it. Just about every scene had some form of joke. Also if you didn't laugh at Mackey running around trying to help with swat team then yelling, "No you shot the wrong one" then maybe you lose your funny bone?

Also Randy trying to play charades to let the other guys know that his wife is on her period is hilarious.

Bojack's first like 5 or 6 episodes are okay, about the same as what the first one is, and then it kicks it up into something really good after that and season 2 onward is pretty fantastic. Amusingly reviewers only got those first few episodes to review and as a result there were a decent number of revisions once the full season was out since they're viewed as pretty standard and safe to start.

It's still a little weird to me that Bojack seems to be the character Will Arnett fits the best, at least in my opinion.

I've seen both seasons of Jessica Jones and it took me way too long to pick up on this, like I picked up on the detective archetype aspect but I don't think I realized it was specifically going for Jessica Jones until the bathroom scene at the end.

Solid episode, not great but a decent opener. The school shootings thing was supposed to be shocking but I felt watching it pretty much like everyone else did in the episode; it was just sort of there. I guess that's classic South Park meta commentary in a way, but it was missing something.

Always great to see Randy take up a big part of the episode and him doing charades was pretty amusing. The Jessica Jones joke wasn't good enough, but the Black Panther jokes were great.

I felt like it was supposed to be shocking and also funny, almost making you feel bad for laughing at it. I laughed at the kids'/teachers' complacency with the gunshots and also thought "I'm going to hell for this".

Y'know, it kinda doesn't surprise me at all. I hadn't ever seen Will Arnett live until long after Arrested Development, and it was kinda jarring to me how quiet and unconfident he seemed during interviews and stuff where he didn't have a script to follow. Didn't have nearly as many off-the-cuff jokes as I thought he would, and even when he did deliver a good line, he didn't know how to revel in it, big grin at the audience or anything, he just kinda smiled and looked a little embarrassed. Part of that is obviously the fact that Gob Bluth was such a polar opposite, but he really came off as kind of a depressed, self-doubting sort of guy.

Yeah, I guess jokes isn't quite the right word, but I always like when they poke fun at things that are widely held in esteem; sort of like when they first did the "Kaitlin Jenner is a hero" bit before she became a recurring character.

The approach to the ending was to inspire the gut reaction "no parents should freak out when your kids are shot" which was meant to contrast the horror of that is the normalization of school shootings. It really would have worked if it had been excruciatingly callous rather than Randy being a goober.

Oh, poo poo. I remember that now. Weird that it just poofed out of my brain.

Anyway, with the way this show's been going, I'm just impressed their hot take wasn't "we shouldn't care as much as we do about school shootings," because extremely wealthy white dudes telling me what matters and what doesn't and that caring about anything is lame hasn't had the track record on this show recently that it used to surprisingly have.

It was an okay episode. It's completely true that Black Panther was a fairly typical Marvel movie (aka good, but not game-changing or anything) and I'm fairly certain most critics intentionally avoided saying anything negative about it.

I'm expecting this season to be like the last - it wasn't terrible, but had a very strong sense that they're phoning it in. I have no doubt that if Matt and Trey actually put in the effort to properly write a complete serialized season that it could be really good, but when they tried it with season 20 it fell apart because they still insisted on their "completely make each episode in the six days before it airs" method. It really kind of seems like because they experimented with the format but it crashed kind of hard, they're now completely burnt out. I'm happy that the show is still on and can still put out episodes like this that still don't feel like a waste of time, but I wouldn't be sad if this was the last season either.

**Also, regarding BoJack Horseman, if you're new to it:** it can not be stressed enough that the first six or seven episodes are kind of rough and quite mediocre. Episode eight is where it begins to morph into it's true self, and it fully reveals itself on episode 11. From this point onward, it's a fantastic show, easily the best animated television show in production. For the most part, it is indeed a comedy, but be prepared for some pretty deep emotional gut punches.
