There have been a bunch of great matches so far, I've managed to catch most of the TSN featured ones.

So happy about the exciting, young guys making cool shots to win games. I'm kinda glad they didn't show the Bottcher game though, 2-1 going into the 10th jeez.

This final is sad, Botcher played great all week and he's falling apart, poor guy.

Gushue was making comical shot observations with his team in the first and second ends of the morning match, the whole arena was laughing along

Yeah, Bottcher is not having a great final

It's not out of reach based on the score, but with how they've been shooting :ohdear:

Saskatchewan/Manitoba shaping up to be good.

this 10th end is a hell of a ride, the right side of the sheet apparently has a path carved, so almost everything is heavy, and they can't trust the split times.

Alberta and Wildcard 3 ice also seems faster based on some of these opening throws, wonder if the building climate has changed.

I would have figured with nobody in there it would be as consistent as possible with all that volume and almost no body heat load.

Too bad for Alberta there, ice was doing some crazy things-- you can't plan for a stone that reverses spin.

Hopefully as the week goes on the ice gets more consistent (or they get better at reading it).

iirc the broadcast said there were supply chain issues with some of the parts they needed. Which conjured up a funny image in my head of some engineer soldering together 200 stone handles from scratch before every tournament but isn’t a good explanation other than to say “COVID did it”

Yeah, it's generic chip shortage related

https://twitter.com/Devin_Heroux/status/1362951297020932096

my question (and also one of the replies unanswered) is why are last year's handles not suitable for use, why did they need new ones.
