He's tall, and obviously not a d-lineman playing QB like Ben did, but Mahomes is much quicker and his arm is even stronger

....did the left-hand pass Mahomes threw go to Hill running the same route as when Hill tried to throw that pass last year against the Broncos but it got intercepted?

I feel like that's could stealthily be some savage shade throwing right there.

Kelce toward the end of the game?

Got the wind knocked out of him probably, unless we find out he has cracked ribs tomorrow. He was also clearly exhausted at that point of the game, he wasn't moving like he usually does.

e: he came back in the game after missing a play at the least.

in '07 the Patriots and Colts were 8-0 / 7-0 respectively. That's probably the latest?

There is also the well known case when it nearly happened in 1990, where the Giants and 49ers were both 10-0, but both lost the week before playing each other on MNF (Which turned into a brutal 7-3 slugfest SF won).

I looked it up and honestly it's just New England that is throwing off the numbers. If you go back to 1996 (23 years), you get 7 different teams from the AFC and 13 different teams from the NFC. New England has been 9 times in that span, and Pittsburgh/Denver have been 4 times each. No one in the NFC has been more than 3 times.

That said, I think you can grab a similar group of 23 Super Bowls and end up with the same numbers. There have always been 2-3 teams that have dominated for 10+ year stretches. New England is just an outlier amongst even them.

Outside of the Rams I'd say any team in the NFC could easily lose to the worst team in the AFC - the Bills.

I was going to say the Jaguars against not-the-Titans, but I think next Sunday playing the Chiefs in Arrowhead will be a good indicator.

The Titans are 3-1 and handed the Jaguars their only loss and also just beat the Super Bowl champs.

I think the Chargers are a threat, but eh, they're the Chargers.

The Dolphins are 3-1 but just got completely annihilated by the Pats.

The Ravens keep giving touches to bad RBs but they did just beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh (which the Jaguars did twice last year :smuggo: )

The Steelers just lost at home to the Ravens and their defense is pure rear end.

The Vikings got exposed by the Bills at home and then the Rams, so who knows.

The Packers still have Fat Mike and thus an anchor around Rodgers' neck.

The Eagles are a questionmark because apparently they dont have corners cover receivers?!?

The Saints, Panthers, and Falcons are going to eat each other before the season ends.

The Bears may be good but who the gently caress knows. They have Kalil Mack and Vic Fangio so I'd say they're good but they need to prove it.

So yeah, I'm lost.

If you're not striving to improve, you'll end up going backwards.
Outside of the Rams, all the NFC teams i thought would be super good this year have major issues:

Saints - Defense seems to be an issue and Brees is looking a bit lethargic,

Vikings- Good god for a team built around Defense, their D sure is bad, also Cousins still isnt a franchise QB

Eagles - Secondary still sucks, water still wet, receivers outside of Jeffery have bad hands

Falcons - poo poo the bed on D every week

Packers - So long as they keep Mike around they wont get back to the SB

I’m interested in what’s going wrong for the Vikings defense. They are absolutely loaded with talented players, I forgot until last week that Sheldon Richardson plays there now. No real weakness anywhere and good players at every level, on paper you could say it’s the most complete defense in football

The current line of thinking is that Zimmer simply hasn't changed a thing scheme-wise from last year and teams spent the off-season dissecting how to attack the scheme and get better matchups.
