Due to an insider election on the leading centre right portuguese party electing a "populist" that ended up being rather tame towards the majority coalition rather than the "experienced" that proceeded to give up on his own party, there has been attempts to re-estsblish a new centre to restore "order". This resulted on another centre party that denies neoliberalism existing as anything other than a leftist slur against real liberals and based itself on outside successes like Ciudadanos and Macron 's policies.

The former CEO of Sporting Club Lisboa, one of the major three football teams in Portugal, after being ousted for coordinating an attack on his own team thru the cheerleading squad that ended up in several major players being beaten up and straight up leaving the team. The group that beat up the team ended up getting terrorism charges, while the CEO got several leading papers and pundits, including a former head of the centre right party, to argue for his reinstallation as the CEO under the clause that "removing someone just bc you disagree with them is not an effective response towards populism".

After the June 2017 fires, there was a major push from opposition media channels to pin the entire blame of the late response and casualities on the Portuguese left coalition, highlighting almost every day a businessman ,farmer or logger who was deeply affected by these fires and posturing them as the main victims of the fires, down to almost comparing them to 9/11 and demanding a similar memorial as a failure of the left to properly treat this. A year later, during times where Cristiano Ronaldo was seemingly about to face judicial charges, said tv broadcaster proceeded to make a series of interviews with people "who have their lives frozen by the judicial system", starting with mentally handicapped prisoners that are doing time for causing fires that have led to said 2017 fires. In a response to every single prisoner admitting that they set fire under orders of nearby businessmen, farmers and loggers in exchange of food, shelter and some level of monetary compensation so the commodity value would severely increase due to lack of product, they proceeded to ignore entirely what they just heard and proceeded to advertise the following, more important case of a relationship between a Euromillions winner and a Pimba Singer.
