Oh, well cool. Being a staunch X3 supporter and addict, I completely ignored Rebirth... so I wasn't aware.

If this game has a rimworld-level modding community it will be the best thing ever.

I'm genuinely excited to read this thread on the 30th and then wait a few months to actually play the game.

Woo I'm glad it's decently good and the reviews are leveling out. Looks like it's selling pretty well too.

Someone gifted me the deluxe version and I begged them to refund it... they didn't understand why I said I wasn't going to play the game for at least 6 more months.

Are there any mods that add ship component content and/or is it decently easy to create that type of mod? I'd like to eventually be able to add some very expensive but very overpowered mods to ships endgame style.

This might be an incredibly stupid question... As I haven't started playing the game yet. It was fun to do that in X3AP tho with some of the mods.

Where's the central modding repository? Workshop, Nexus, or forum? Or just all combined

Has anyone ITT looked into modding? I want to create a chase mod that provides some mid-end game overpowered ship parts. Does something like that exist? From what I've seen on the workshop it likely isn't too difficult to do. Thoughts?

Within 10 seconds that music took me back to X3. Hot drat, may finally be time to play after getting gifted the special edition after the original release lol

Welp, learned my lesson. Had a Syn patrolling Getsu Fune protecting my mining fleet there. Decided "hey, I'll buy some light fighters as an escort, that'll be pretty cool" and put them on intercept. Only problem is they don't stay with the Syn. They move to wherever the Syn's next move command is ahead of it and, I assume, because of how intercept works with the fighters only attacking things their commander can see, they sit at their destination unmoving, allowing any passing enemies to slaughter them with impunity until the Syn gets in radar range, then they'll happily defend themselves. Never assigning fighters directly to a destroyer again.

Christ. Guess I'll wait another 3 years to play my pre-purchased special edition.
