These X games have always felt %70 complete out of the box but with enough patches (and/or mods) they really are fantastic. X3 was such a huge time sink.

If they can pull off a quality experience out of the box I'd absolutely love to play an updated X3.

Season Passes for Elite are just paid expansions packs. It's how they continue funding development and it's not really shady at all.

Squadron 42 will come out a half assed broken mess in the year 3033, it's best to pretend SC/SQ42 don't even exist (cause they don't).

I want this to be good but the total lack of any info from Egosoft is disconcerting. Like hell, even just a Tweet saying "We hope you enjoy X4: Foundations this Friday!". Just say something.

This is definitely one of those games I say I'll wait a day or two to get other peoples first impression and see if it's horribly broke, but in reality I'm just gonna buy it on launch day.

Yeah Steam refunds are a pretty good motivator, but games like the X series also take awhile to dive deep into them and it can easily be over 2 hours before you realize it's horribly broken.

Looks pretty cool so far, do notice some framerate issues though but if that's the worst of it I'm sold.

Yeah space highways look awesome, I like all the ambient traffic in the space highways and surrounding stations.

Hopefully he finds some larger capital ships soon, would be nice to see.

Overall the game has a good sense of scale.

He just docked on a giant constructor ship that was cruising around and his ship is just a tiny speck on the side of it.

The deck of this constructor ship is so cool, I hope you can get a capital ship like this and take in the view. His ship docked on this other ship is going through a warp gate to a new sector.

The seamless integration looks fantastic.

I'm hype as hell, is this what a Star Citizen cultist feels like?

The earlier Stream got me hype as hell, I wanted to avoid doing that but once he docked on a moving capital ship that was just cruising around between sectors and went up on the bridge I was sold.

Are there dedicated mining ships? How does mining work? I didn't see it on the streams yesterday and I don't remember ever doing it in X3.

The ambient traffic around stations and in space, landing at a station and seeing aliens walking around. Small stuff like that really adds to the atmosphere of this game, I like it a lot.

What are people playing with? Mouse and keyboard, joystick, controller?

I have a joystick that I might use, but idk if it's optimized for that.

Anyone with a joystick have recommendations from input settings? I selected the default profile but the throttle slider is inverted and so is up/down.

Should I use the Saitek profile or something? I've got a Logitech Xtreme3d Pro.

I'm still going through tutorials and have hardly left the starting Argon station but just watching the huge variety of ships (and sizes) fly in and out is really cool. The universe feels very alive.

Anyone able to get past the Scan Modes tutorial? I find the noise source but the tutorial never progresses past that point. I've gone right up to it like 1m away.

Can anyone confirm you don't need to complete the tutorials to progress? I've done all the ones I can for now (no base building tutorial yet).

I restarted my game hoping that a new run would fix the Scan Mode tutorial but no luck. I get the signal everytime and move right up to it where it is decrypted and the tutorial appears to continue but then it just stops and I have to abort it.

Can you not open up the map with "m" when flying? I have to go through the enter menu or get up from my seat and then press "m" for it to come up.
