So Luke just gets to keep a whole rear end T-65B space superiority fighter after mustering out into religious hermitage?

I get that he's a big Alliance hero, but it's not like... IDK the USAF just let Mig Alley Aces personally keep their Sabres for a job well done.

Season 3 of Mando should feature a New Republic JAG officer coming to investigate a FLIPL claim at Luke's praxium.

he had that huge fleet of construction droids building his new jedi academy temple or whatever, im sure hes state sponsored and funded with anything he needs right up until his project spectacularly fails and he fucks off to live with the space penguins

first world problems, but those bright white flashes during the flashbacks in the obiwan vader fight and throughout the episode were pure hell on my oled with the disney dolby vision stream. had to crank up the bias lighting real high to stop the pain and even then it was annoying

this show was truly surprising in its badness. i liked some of the fight and the broken vader mask and anakin in general, but the rest made boba fett truly look like a work of art

The performance by Deputy Inspector Fascist-Stick-Up-My-rear end was amazing. Every scene he was in was captivating, from him baffled by his superior telling him to sweep things under the rug, to him berating the people "working" for him just trying to punch their timecards, to the inspirational speech, to the dead-eyed look at the exploded speeder, it was just great.

I hope they don't bring him back though. I hope we never see him again and he's just some over-zealous prick we never see again except maybe referencing the inspector who got demoted so far he couldn't even use a desk. Just let that be his arc - I don't want him hunting Cassian across the galaxy looking for revenge. He was the far arrogant cop Cassian was talking about so to fit the theme perfectly they'd just walk right away from him. Maybe keep the Sgt on as the guy who follows up because the inspector absorbed all the poo poo rolling downhill but let him fade into obscurity it's the perfect contained arc for his ambition-cloaked-in-self-righteous-delusion character.

I was not and am not prepared for this show to be this good I'm going to have to do a double shift in the take mines tonight to get some fresh ones.

the whole thing seemed to be setting him up for a longer arc where we'll see him again as an imperial officer. fits right into an easy plot where he would be recruited and promoted for failure after he throws his boss under the bus and blames him for trying to cover up what appears to be a newly discovered terrorist cell. i dont think i saw him in a different uniform in the trailers though

I can't get over how much I like this show. Star Wars has always been a space opera, a bit schlocky and campy with lots of swashbuckling adventures, but nerds like me who read a bunch of EU books back in the day just wanted them to focus more on fleshing out the hinted-at worldbuilding, telling stories about people not named Skywalker. I was pretty bummed when that 1313 game was cancelled, since it sounded like it was going for more of a gritty, not-Jedi vibe that might have been what I was looking for.

Mandalorian was an excellent specimen of classic Star Wars, right down to wearing its western influences on its sleeve, but Andor is finally the EU story I wanted. I actually love the slow pace since it means more time dedicated to the dialogue and the character interactions (both of which have been stellar), and whoever they have doing sets and props is top loving notch for nailing that 70s vibe and the kit-bashing aesthetic (SX-70 as a navigational tool was :discourse:). There was that scene talking about fear and nerves before the big day, and I actually felt a bit of adrenaline when Taramyn was waving the signal torch for Gorn. I don't think I would've felt half as tense if we had already leapt into the heist at this point.

Everything just feels very mature, with dialogue that feels sharp but not smarmy, and trusting the viewer to draw conclusions without everything being spelled out. Apparently an entire dinner party happened off-screen, but we see Mon Mothma riding in a car all dressed up while removing her earrings, talking about something that happened in the past, and that's enough.

i hope the showrunners and the whole team have something else planned after this run, since they said the andor story will be wrapped up in 2 seasons right?

a series centered entirely around isb and imperial intelligence seems like it would be cool and let them explore a lot of different things

Where's Andor marketing? I'm sure it's awkward for the execs to have to deal with a popular show that shows portions of the fanbase that, yes, they're cosplaying as Space Nazis. Popping back in for Willow chat now that I finished the season.

The first 2 episodes were pretty awful, but it got better after that. It was still pretty poor overall. My biggest complaint is that there were a lot of scenes/dialogue where it felt like the actors were just woodenly reading lines off a page without acting and in only one take.

They also should have dialed back the volume of quips and jokes and concentrated more on quality as far too many landed completely flat.

Boorman was a decent Madmartigan/Jack Sparrow kinda archetype.

I found Kit to be grating in basically every scene. I thought the armor working for her was completely unearned.

The show had some decent highs, but a lot of low, lows. Not really sure what to rate it. It's closer to Obi-Wan than Andor.

i liked the jokes cause it reinforced its camp feel. reminded me of poo poo like xena/hercules

i laughed a ton when a flamethrower just randomly appeared out of nowhere and the response was 'don't worry about it', and it was never seen again

this season really took a huge dive in quality

when bo katan's armor broke in the air i was hoping it was a piece of her helmet, and then it would fall off in front of everyone when she landed for the big heros welcome. they could exile her and we could all leave this lovely plot line and those armored clowns

the shot of her heavy fighter against the sunset and dragon looked nice though

Do other people really not cross their arms that much? Now I'm going to have even more trouble figuring out what to do with my hands.

the strange thing is i found all the lingering shots with sabine and ahsoka standing there with arms crossed totally natural and far more believable than the normal poo poo we normally see

sabine always looked uncomfortable and awkward, and ahsoka seemed like she did too but was just trying to hide it with an outward appearance of smug jedi superiority. all of that fits and makes sense with what we know from their history

maybe im reading into it too much and projecting, but i had no complaints about the cinematography or acting of those two
