Star Wars fans have always been a little out there. It’s just instead of being confined to theforce.net then can blast people on Twitter which gets amplified by people out to stir poo poo up. This then turns into media reports of “Star Wars fans rage and hurl hate” when like 95% of people who like Star Wars are pretty chill. Look at the Star Wars threads here in TVIV, they’re pretty chill and friendly. When it comes to Resistance the animation style isn’t quite my thing, although I felt the same way about Rebels at the start. I slowly got into it, they fixed up some things and by Season 4 I was in love with the show. Hell even Clone Wars had that awful first season and I’m now the guy who has to defend loving the Yoda stuff from The Lost Missions.

Resistance might be the hardest I've ever bounced off of any Star Wars related property with maybe the exception of those Ewok Movies. It's just really really rough in parts. I know folks say it vaguely gets it together towards the end but it feels like such a dead end in so many ways.

I could see doing a series or animated thing about a TIE pilot. From their time in the Imperial Academy to fighting pirates to the full on rebellion. Maybe some internal imperial poo poo with some Admiral trying to cause all sorts of harvok. You'd probably need to thrown in some secret Emperor's Order poo poo or something to keep people engaged since they've gotta have something Jedi/Sith adjacent.

Okay so new tv show idea. The rebellion discovers the empire is mining ore for some sort of new super weapon. Over the course of the season we discover it's all about creating some sort of "phantom" TIE that can cloak (I know, on a ship that small!). You can do ground based combat as they infiltrate the production facility, sweet space battles. I mean people love giant rear end ships so why not have one of the final episodes have a cloaked SSD or some poo poo. Star Wars: The Second Rebel Offensive, coming soon to Disney +
