That replay did look really badly off, so I'm fairly surprised they didn't go to VAR. But I guess that's the issue with MLS VAR, it's not the official upstairs telling the center ref what the correct call is and instead giving them the option to not even go to replay, and if they do they don't have to change anything anyway.
