I stayed up to play this last night but just sat in discord while my friends played because I had an abc error that prevented me from logging into the game at all so I turned it off after 2 hours trying to fix it and then went to bed. Games sick.

I'm playing it on PC and getting my rear end whooped. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the amount of game modes. I haven't played played a cod since mw2 so I'm a bit rusty on cod's shoot-feels

Finally had that game where you just "go off". Ruin with the equipment to reduce grappling hook cooldown + the pump shotgun with every possible attachment stacked on it is way too fun, I don't want to play any other classes lol

Yeah that's insanely cool in objective modes when you can just melt an entire team from behind the wall

Does anybody mess around with sensitivity? I’m having a hard time finding a good spot where my aim isn’t jerking around like crazy but I’m also not feeling like I’m moving around in molasses...

I run mine at 6 and I'm pretty comfortable but I dislike that there's no separate setting for look sensitivity and ADS sensitivity -- it's hard to make the latter feel fast enough without the first being too fast. In a perfect world I'd be at like 6 for normal sensitivity and 8 for ADS

Lipstick Apathy
Hey guys, I know this might be a pointless question. But I'm trying to decide between Black ops, battlefield V, and Insurgency sandstorm.

I really liked call of duty world at war in how the game felt, but also really like how much the battlefield games nail the atmosphere and sounds and stuff to make your feel like you're in a battle. Anyone have a strong opinion about these games? Are they all the same game at this point?

They play pretty differently, at least with these installments (I skipped Cod WWII)-- the MP is a fast, fluid, arcadey military shooter on small maps, compared to Battlefield and its big maps and vehicles and support classes etc. I tried the beta for BFV and I hated it, but I've never gotten into those games and I think it's more a matter of taste than anything.

Battlefield probably always has CoD beat on overall "warfeel" but I will say that the sounds and the atmosphere in Black Ops IIII are way better than any of the previous games. Also the battle royale mode is real fun and it does give you a very strong impression of being on a live battlefield, but I don't know if that's exactly what you're asking about

Battlefield v is changing up a ton of core mechanics in the series and it remains to be seen how they all shake out. It's also a DICE game so it's usually not really playable for a month or so until a patch. That being said I like the slower more defensive pace of battlefield games more in general, but it's very much personal preference.

I feel like the big question in battlefield vs cod is always whether or not you care about driving tanks and planes

I’ve enjoyed all the Battlefield games I’ve played and put a lot of time into BF1 but I was supremely bored by the BF5 beta. That’s less because of the gameplay mechanics, which were fine, and more because the Rotterdam map was awful but if that’s the one they put in their open beta I’m not feeling too hot about the full game (although another school of thought is that they put it in the beta because they knew it needed improvement). It’s definitely something I’m going to rent first instead of buying right away.

Meanwhile I had completely written off BO4 before its release because of the lack of story, BR mode, focus on zombies, I think I was the only person in the world that didn’t care for BO3, etc, but caved and bought it anyway after positive feedback in this forum and I actually ended up loving it

If you like Battlefield games for atmosphere and aesthetic, I have some bad news about V (unless you like technicolor cyborgs with katanas)

they said theyre removing the goofier stuff from the game a couple months ago but who knows, if it sells poorly theyll probably get desperate and add em back in

my current plan is to try BFV via ea access and if it stinks I’ll just grab blops on black friday

There are some weird rear end easter eggs in this game. When you beat the specialist training missions there's a cutscene of a character writing something on the wall of an asylum -- if you go to the asylum location in the battle royale mode (only after unlocking said cutscene) you can read what he wrote on the wall. I like the idea of secrets being linked across all the different modes like this
