incidentally this game shows why the chargers need to have gordon healthy in the worst way. I like ekeler a bunch but he's not a starting RB and the titans did a very good job of completely snuffing out the run game with him today

Like when the play started I was sure that Mariota was going to throw to the sideline slant. IDK why he would throw over the line.

I know it's way safer and this was one of the more dangerous plays in the game, but I really miss old school onside kicks where dudes would get a 20 yard head start and they just tried to bounce the ball 15 yards in the air.

gently caress that 2-point okay. What the poo poo.

Well that's the risk when you put it all on one (in this case two) plays. I kind of think the Chargers would'v stiffened up and taken it in overtime anyways, but there would be more of a chance for the better team to win out instead of chance. Fun ending anyways

I really wish that the NFL would do something to ensure that both offenses at least touch the ball in overtime. The rules have been so skewed in favor of offenses, yet everyone says "if a D can't stop the TD they don't deserve to win." Cue a roughing call for sneezing on a QB.

This is the second time this season an opposing team just didn’t run it in at the 1-2 yard line on the Chargers. Like seriously you fuckers forget you can run them over for short yardage all day every day. Please keep throwing.

That was escaping with a win in every sense of the word. 5-2 at the bye wooooo

It worked for the TD, but that was at least play action out of a run heavy formation. The other two were just straight passes, no roll outs with an option for Mariota to run or anything.

Lots of bad arm tackles, not a lot of attempts at actually wrapping up. a lot of things need to be cleaned up.

The rules have been so skewed in favor of offenses, yet everyone says "if a D can't stop the TD they don't deserve to win." Yeah especially this year when the majority of defenses are struggling majorly. Tough to basically lose a game via coin flip if a game is all offense. The NFL just wanted to shorten playing time, allowing for more commercials and less airtime conflict when a game goes too long. Still, I absolutely could've seen Tennessee stopping the Chargers on defense and that's where I would've taken it if they're trying to get to the playoffs. Maybe Vrabel doesn't think this is the team this year, so he's not as concerned about his record? Or maybe he was just convinced they were gonna pull it off Zyla posted:such a fradulent 5-2 lmao Ehhh... only losing to the two best offenses in the league is pretty solid actually. Normally by this time of the season the Chargers would've dropped at least two easy games that they should've won.

^ exactly. Like, this wasn't a good game by them, but the only two losses they've had were against 2 of the 3 best teams in the league. They have a lot of poo poo to clean up but I still feel way better about them this season than I did last year around this time.
